"Gender reassignment" as you call it, is yet another disaster the LGBT promotes as normal. Nine out of ten people who get the procedure are twice as miserable and in time all of them wish they hadn't.

Why do people automatically assume crossdressing means homosexuality?

I'm re-asking this question because the first time I left out an important detail that I think influences the answers.

I'm a male who crossdresses, I am attracted to women. I do not dress to appear as a woman, I dress as a guy, who happens to like wearing things like skirts and tights and such, and occasionally some eye makeup. Based on the way I dress people often assume I'm gay, which usually doesn't bother me, there's nothing wrong with being gay, but it does bother me specifically when it comes to dating women, because obviously I don't want potential female partners to think I'm gay.

Now, I have posted questions on here and other sites regarding my crossdressing and how it relates to my dating life, and often people will respond with things like "Oh just admit you're gay" or "are you sure you're not gay?" And I know a lot of it is ignorance, but still, why do people think that clothing preferences mean anything about someone's sexuality?

Furthermore, doesn't it seem backwards that a guy would dress in women's clothing for the specific purpose of trying to attract a man? Gay men are looking for men after all. Not saying a gay guy wouldn't date a crossdresser, just that it doesn't seem like something one would do specifically to pick up gay guys.
