Yeah. Glenn Beck. Or, maybe he didn't pass. Oh. And I bet a lot of people who post on this forum didn't get through 8th-grade.

The yellow light is merely a warning. If the light turns red while traveling through the intersection, no law has been broken. Writing tickets for this would be a waste of time.

Have you been following the murder of the 13 folks and wounding of 28 at Fort Hood! The shooter has now been identified as a radical Muslim extremist, Army Maj. Doctor Hasan who held the position of a Major, Doctor (Psychiatrist) who has demonstrated his hatred of the US military actions against Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan supported by his statements to co-workers and his postings on his radical Islamic extremist blog postings! His application with the Army in 1997 listed his religious affiliation as "None"! His relatives related Hasan has been a practicing Muslim his entire life as his parents are Palestinians who emigrated from Jordan! His Army education was paid by taxpayer money to attend medical school and then his internship! In return, he received his military commission which required him by contract to spend a certain number of years in the military. His military evaluations have been sub-par and those who worked with him notified his superiors of his extremist statements yet, the Army continued to allow him to work with and treat returning military personnel! He received orders to be deployed to Afghanistan next month! He cleared out his apartment prior to his murderous terrorist attack at Fort Hood! N What you say, I must be making this all up as you are not hearing much about ht extremist Muslim Islamic connections? You must be watching mainstream media!

"Nothing good can happen as long as we continue to insinuate ourselves into a part of the world where we are not welcome." Howard Sosbee, Scotts Valley Didn't Sosbee write exactly the same comment before the Iraq surge? Thrice? Here's what's important: Pakistan has atomic weapons and having the Gov't there not fall to the types that run Iran is job 1. Supress the Afgan armed fringe and keep the Ahmadinejad types away from the button.

John Beisner wrote: Beck's assertions flabbergasting
Once again, Glenn Beck was revising history today as he played a video of an Obama supporter claiming that the United States "stole land from Native Americans." Beck responded with "I don't think so." I don't know what history book he reads, but mine doesn't say that. Is there any doubt that the United States, by broken treaty after broken treaty, has, in effect, stolen land from Native Americans? Is there any person in the United States who has taken and passed 8th-grade U.S. history who doesn't realize what has been done to acquire most of the land on which the United States sits? Granted, most of the thefts were 18th and 19th century actions, but there can be no doubt from those who can read, can there? I am consistently flabbergasted that anyone can actually watch Beck and believe anything coming out of his mouth. I, too, was amazed that Glenn Beck seemingly ignored obvious history and didn't use this as a "teachable moment." It reminds me of a bumper sticker that I saw the other day. It read, "Of course you can trust the government. Just ask an Indian." Funny, bitter, and true. The confiscation of lands from the Cherokee Nation and the later Trail of Tears was not a proud moment in United States history. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trail_of_Tears If nothing else, this should be a warning to all that places blind trust in the United States government, regardless of corrupt or well-intentioned motives. I'm not sure of the exact video that you write about, but I'm guessing that it is the one from Van Jones who was much more than an Obama supporter. Mr. Jones recently resigned as the Green Jobs Czar in the Obama Administration for some of his controversial, "out of the mainstream" views. Unfortunately, in my opionion, Van Jones' blending of "social justice" with "green energy" does disservice to both causes. Clip from Glenn Beck (my apologies, not my posting) http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Mr Hertel, I was raised and grew up in Santa Cruz, my son who is now 24 years old also was born and raised in this city. He is now a United States Marine and I am nothing but proud of his service. He has been trained to work on jet electronics and if he had not joined the Marine Corps he may have been home, but unemployed. You do nothing but discredit and disrespect all our young people that have freely made the decision to give back to their country while receiving an education in return. You don't refer to any real dollar amounts when you say that it costs more to train my son than it does to provide a college education. Are you talking about the cost to the parents or the cost to tax payers. You are obviously not a parent,or a person who is involved in day to day life. Please shut up and respect those that decide with their free will to serve in the way that is best for them. We don't really care what you think.

Well Mr. Hertel, did we wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? You Sir are such a MORON. If you can't see the need for a strong Armed Force's in these United States you Sir must be smoking something or sucking someting up your nose. Where did you get your facts? You sound like a typical left wing person that just makes up such dribble and then tries to make it sound factual. By god if you hate America so much why don't you leave and go to a country with people think your line of B.S. has any merit at all. You Sir are a shining examlpe of your so called "Dysfunctional Society". LEAVE AND DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE ASS.

In his letter of Nov 6th Aaron Cross, describes the action of the Jews in Palestine as theft and murder of native villages. That is not accurate. The Jews migrated to Palestine before 1948 to buy land, start a business , build a house ,farm the land and feed their family and by the way escape death in Europe. Their immigration is not too different then the way Muslims have in recent years immigrated to Holland, France,Norway to name a few places. It should come as no surprise that these Muslim immigrants are now demanding to be under Sharia law and not the laws of their host country. Is succession very far away? The early Jewish settlers paid exorbitant prices for atrociously bad land. They worked hard and made the desert bloom. But since they were Jews they weren't welcome in the Middle East, at least not as first class citizens. The native Arabs soon became belligerent and attacked Jewish settlements and massacres occured on both sides.. And this was long before partition, The Zionists most optimistic plan was to share the land with the Palestinians. When it became obvious that the Arabs had no intention of allowing a Jewish state to exist in the Middle East, the Israeli's adopted more stringent land rules with regards to turning over state land and abandoned land to the government to be held in trust. Also since peace with the Arabs did not appear to be on the horizon it was essential that the original partion borders be modifide to reflect the new reality and give Israel a state that was defendable. The intent was to assure that Jews would be a majority in the state of Israel and Arabs would have their own state. In conclusion, the transfer of populations to achieve a more durable demographics in not always reprehensible. It was done in Cyprus with the Turks and Greeks , in Pakistan and India , in Eastern Europe in the Balkans. It should be put on the table for the Israel/ Palestinian conflict
