How embarrassing for us here in Toronto that San Fran, Chicago and New York have mayors who care about and recognize their LGBT citizens and also know the responsibilities of their office. Here, we have a mayor who goes up into the woods to hide out with his family. That's what happens when voters decide to vote for spite rather than common sense. Let that be a lesson to US voters this November. Happy Pride.

Yes, I'm in favor of gay marriage but, I'm tired of the gay community constantly making asses of themselves. How about growing up and being a normal member of society whether your gay or straight?

That balloon rainbow was very clever and beautiful for all that it was inexpensive.
I wish our parades had many more such, and resembled carnival in Rio far more.

YOU are the only ne'er-do-well, and a xenophobe at that. Someone obviously dropped you on your head as an infant. YOU stay within your lines, in Arizona, no less, the current home of crazy. Take your Libertarian ass into the desert and live totally alone - a fitting place for someone as anti-social as you. The further you are from the 49th Parallel, the happier we are. The only "running gag" here is you, and by the way, no one else is laughing at your feeble attempts at humour, but yourself. You're a real nowhere man, lving in your nowhere land, making all your nowhere plans for nobody.

And yet, unlike the riots and destruction after a major sporting event, the million or so residents and visitors who attended contributed to the economy of SF. You're just jealous most of the money went to the other side of the bay.

I think you need to lighten-up a bit and learn how to have fun in life. In other words... LIFE IS SHORT SO, TAKE THE STICK OUT OF YOUR ASS AND ENJOY IT. I bet you don't complain about other parades.

What are YOU crying about? You're over in Oakland, unlike Sarah Palin, you CAN'T see Market Street from your house. It may cost a bit to run, but it brings in thousands of visitors how pack the hotels and restaurants and spend spend spend with both hands. I have read that these kinds of gatherings bring in untold MEGA thousands into a City's coffers. Many cities actively court gay venues FOR the glut of disposable income gays who will show up. You should hold one over in Oakland and bring some cash into your town.

I feel the same way about the St. Patrick's Day Parade. As a church-going Protestant, why should I have this disgusting Roman Catholicism shoved down my throat and have my taxes pay for all the police and street closings just so these bigots can "celebrate" being Catholic ?!(And I'm of Irish ancestry.)

When people such as you stop dissing your fellow citizens, pride parades will become an anachonism and will no longer be necessary. Until then, get used to reponses to your cynicism.
