America is running out of its ability to generate the petroleum necessary for energy on a national basis. Therefore, we have increased our foreign imports of petroleum ever since the 1950’s to meet our energy needs.

Today, however, we import about 70% of our daily consumption of petroleum from foreign countries, and this percentage is steadily and rapidly rising!

The burning of carbon-based petroleum is one of the main causes of Global Warming, and both Obama and McCain agree about this fact.

We have the knowledge, and the ability, to adequately change our energy sources to solar, wind, and ethanol energy; but the Democrats in Congress want to temporarily raid the National Petroleum Reserve. They want to temporarily lower the price of petroleum and gasoline this way, they will tell you today.

The Republicans, however, say that this is an absolutely terrible idea! Their ingenious plan is to drill for more oil: drill off shore on the east coast of the United States, drill for oil in the ANWAR Preserve, and so on.

But it will take about ten years to get this new oil to the pump, and it will only last another ten years; that is, if they find it!

Both the Democrats and Republicans refuse to vote for what the rest of the civilized world is turning to: viable alternatives to carbon based fuels!

YOU may write Letters to the Editor about this in your local daily and/or weekly newspapers; you may publicly address this subject so that other voters may hear you; you may get on local talk shows on T. V. and radio, you may ….

The important thing is that the politicians in your area know that you are talking about alternative sources of energy, and that if they don’t change their attitude, you are going to write and/or speak about their removal from office this November!
