I remember watching the Roadrunner Cartoons more than 45 years ago. The wolf would put together a rather ingenious plan to catch the very formable Roadrunner.

Almost every time, however, the Roadrunner would not only avoid being captured, but he would almost always lead the wolf off a very steep cliff.

As he first ran off the cliff, the wolf would not realize there was no longer any ground under him, however, and he would continue on running as if there were.

Suddenly he would notice that there was no earth under him, and it was only then that he would tumble and fall to the bottom of the Grand Canyon.

This nation’s federal government has been doing exactly the same thing as the wolf did so many times in the Roadrunner Cartoons.

Economically and socially, America went off the edge of the cliff a few years ago, and very soon the average citizen of this country will notice that there is no land under him.

My question to you, then, is this: Will we make the economic and social changes needed soon enough such that we will remain a leader in the world?
