C89.5 lies to listeners

We can't believe how this radio station has changed. We always hear from them how they are commercial free, but yet they always thank their "CORPORATE SPONSORS" by telling us all kinds of information about them.(websites, menu items,contact info etc.) It is a paid advertisement basically, but if you call and ask them, they retort: "Ummmm, no...it's UNDERWRITING !!!" and tell you that it's completely different from a commercial. OK, "technically" it is, BUT COME ON!!! what they are saying is that it's "OK" for US to make commercials,(because they gave us money of course),but not for ANY BODY ELSE!!! What crust. We just can't believe how they have "sold out" and then lie to us and tell us that they're "always commercial free". Hey, if you want to have your commercials by all means do it. But don't try and skirt around with a technicality and say that you don't have them. We know, we don't have to listen if we don't want, but we've been listening for years so why should we have to stop because this station has changed for the worse. We would also like to note the smart a$$ed attitude when got we did call to inquire about it. Not only was the guy upset at us, but he angrily told us that: "if you don't like it,you can call the GM!!" and when we suggested that this seems fraudulent he barked: " OH YES, I'M A FRAUD AND I SUCK" and hung up on us. We know that this station is run by high schoolers, we were there once, but this guy acted more like an elementary kid. We have always contributed when they do their "donation drive", which is begging for money from their listeners and it seems to go on- FOR.....EV.....ER, but no more. Why bother. They get plenty from the all of the "big busnisses" that "sponsor",(nudge nudge wink wink), them. Please, don't get us started on how shameful it is for these businesses and the General Manager to teach these kids that it is "OK" to get by on a loop hole and just continue to lie to their listeners.

I feel ya I don't even give into their "Pledge Drive" "BEGGING FOR MONEY" no more because their "SPONSORS" are footing the bill
