I wish to respond to the Nov. 19 letter to the editor criticizing the Louisiana State Police for wasting money with marijuana air searches.

Judged: 2 2 1 Yes, Marijuana serves many purposes, yes it’s a drug and no it does not kill you. Marijuana is not a harmful drug as many people think that, as of current time there have been no records that Marijuana was the cause of death!! Wow! Hard to believe? Yes, but it’s true. Marijuana has many uses and would help the economy greatly if it was legalized! Marijuana can be used for medicine, it can be used for construction, a placement for wood, paper products, textiles, bedding for animals, food for animal, certain plastics, oils, nutritional supplements, and etc. I bet you never thought that the "drug" Marijuana would be so helpful to the economy. If Marijuana was to become legalized it could help bring the economy back to where it was earlier in time. Just think to yourself for a minute, and think of how much money the government made last year off cigarette sells, was it 100,000? NO, was it 1 million? Nope. It was roughly 9.3 billion dollars they made last year from the tax off cigarettes. Now Marijuana is sold for a little bit more. If Marijuana was taxed and sold the government would make double or triple the amount it made on cigarettes, that’s a lot of money over 20 billion dollars the government would have to do whatever they do with it... Judged: 1 1 1 I'm not saying everyone should be able to get totally baked and drive with no consequences, but we definitely need to rethink what is important for us to be wasting money on and what isn't. Pot isn't going anywhere...EVER. And since most of society doesn't buy into the propaganda anymore, let's tax it and help the economy. FACT: No proven lethal amount...In other words you will fall asleep before you could ever think about over dosing. FACT: No study has ever directly linked pot to lung cancer. In cases where pot smokers developed lung cancer, they were always cigarette smokers also. Do you think people like Montell Williams should be locked up? Here's a very wonderful human being who helps people in many different ways. But is he a bad guy because he uses it for pain? NO. Neither is anyone else who uses it for pain. It is also used for many other things from pain, to nausea. And if it is so horrible for you and makes you lazy, I'd like to point out that Mike Phelps won like 8 gold medals. Is he a bad guy too? If we regulate it, it will make it harder for kids to get. Drug dealers don't ask for i.d. cards, stores do. If it's not your thing, then don't smoke it. But as long as someone is not harming another person, leave them alone. I would much prefer people smoking weed and chilling on the couch than out committing violence. |

any one need crack dealers number ?i have some and would like to put those people in jail but it
would drive them under if i give them up. The cops know whom they are. They want the big fish |

You are right on, man! I read something (don't know where) About city's In California where the drunk driving arrests have gone down 60% since medical marijuana has been legalized. The liquor stores and bars have had significant decreases in income too. Seems like they are stoned on pot. Any pot smoker knows that pot does not affect driving in the way drunk driving does. I've been smoking since I was 15 & I'm now 56, that's 41 years! Yeah I was/am a hippie. It is great to be part of the coolest generation! My health is good, I've never been arrested or in any real trouble. I drink champagne on new years & on our wedding anniversary, get stoned once a day, in the evenings after work, like some people drink a beer or wine. I'm happy! I wish medical marijuana was legal in my state. It will be one day, I just want to be around when it is!!! |

There is very little evidence that smoking marijuana as a means of taking it represents a significant health risk.
Although cannabis has been smoked widely in Western countries for more than four decades, there have been no reported cases of lung cancer or emphysema attributed to marijuana. I suspect that a day's breathing in any city with poor air quality poses more of a threat than inhaling a day's dose -- which for many ailments is just a portion of a joint -- of marijuana. |

life is not a harmless experience, do it long enough and you will die.
so enjoy your liberty and freedom, and do not try to deprive others of theirs, since it is valuable to you. enjoy yourself, and do not rub yourself with poison ivy leaves, even though they are legal, and no one really cares if you do it or not. why ? because it will make you itch and break out in a rash, and it will be unpleasant for you. so, by the way, why aren't any marijuana smokers complaining ? or breaking out in a rash ? well, why is it illegal then ? good question, because until 1937, marijuana was a constituent of most of your skin lotions, creams, and medications. lol what happened ? no problems were caused by marijuana until AFTER it was made illegal. and the majority of those are IN THE MINDS OF THE ANTI-POT CROWD! |
