This is great news for Vallejo and a definite step in the right direction. I don't care who is responsible for bringing in Murigenics, but I applaud their efforts and encourage them to continue bringing new business to such a great city. WELCOME MURIGENICS!!

maybe tuesday schivley will again wrongly credit lennar for "bringing" this company to vallejo/mare island.
all lennar does is facilitate the lease documents.
keadjin, did lennar "reach out" to this company or the railroad company?
stop pumping up lennar, joann!!
I wonder who did bring them in? Maybe it was Henke, or Gordon...oh that's right they only know how to consume money, not bring it in.

This is great!! Thanks for helping to bring more business to our neglected part of Vallejo, Sam!!
All my neighbors, except for the "mayor", lol, have indicated they will vote for Sam because we finally have a voice where none existed before!!
Gomes was all excited about Touro, but after they blew up,(chirp)(chirp).
We just need Sam on Council to keep Gomes in the minority for two more years if she gets re-elected, which I doubt. All my friends wish she would just go away.

Sam - you once had my support. You just don't know when to keep your mouth shut. I, as for many other former supporters I am personally affiliated with, am tired of your immature retorts and all-around lack of respect for others. You claim to understand the interests and needs of the people of the city, but the more I see your posts and listen, you are just another frustrated little man that cannot express himself constructively.

I sincerely hope you can make personal improvements between now and November because Vallejo does not need another runny-nosed brat on the council.

As for the questions regarding who brought Murigenics to MI -- it was at the suggestion of a personal friend of Mr. Lopez that he check out Mare Island. It's on record now. So neither Lennar nor anyone from the City Council can take credit for the move.

sam is more popular than anyone would have thought, with a simple message: mare island is underutilized, and vallejo needs jobs. no one else has said that yet.
none.
think that won't resonate with the voters? the best thing about sam's campaign is that he is amassing votes without spending a lot of money.
he was smarter than all of you, using the public forum to brand himself into the voters minds.
few, if any, now give a damn about his past behavior, because he is mad on behalf of the rest of us that have watched this miserable opera go nowhere.
i like his slogan "kicking ass for the middle class". he wants to raise people from poverty instead of continuing to marginalize them in subsidized housing.

What about the VIB mantra 'no new revenues untill (PSU) salaries and benefits are under control? This will just line their pockets. The more potential money for the GF the more likely the 'PSU will still take what they want from the trough.'
Did I get that right Captain?
No. My thing is no new taxes, or expanded taxes. I couldn't be happier about MuriGenics relocating to Vallejo. Hopefully other companies follow MuriGenics lead and consider Vallejo as an option. Vallejo has much to offer in terms of location, affordable housing, and reasonably priced commercial space. The entire region has lot's to offer.

This is good news for everyone, and I hope to see other companies follow.

What a bunch of crap on here. I don't know who these trolls & pot-shotters are, but I wish it was possible to block their inane postings.

This deal is done and the tenant, Murigenics, is investing money right now to make the improvements in & around the building.

It's a small company and appears to be a good tenant for Mare Island & Vallejo. Perhaps they are the start of something bigger, perhaps not. It's not clear that they would be a 'magnet' tenant capable of attracting other science-oriented organizations--perhaps so, perhaps not.

But welcome to Mare Island, Murigenics. Your presence is welcomed and appreciated.

Park away, early bird. Thanks for using the service. It supports all.

The numbers don't lie...Lets see, how many businesses fled Vallejo to 1 business coming to Vallejo. Can you say too little, too late! Vallejo's mismanagement of business decisions and entering into bankruptcy will take 10-15 years to see any recovery. Can you say punitive damages to ALL of the bankruptcy creditors! Vallejo, the NEW Oakland of the bay area! Nice!
