Get mad about oil

Dick, You're damn right we should be mad! The oil companies hold nearly 70 million acres of oil leases already that they will not drill on, the right wingers will tell you there is no oil there, which explains why big oil spends billions of dollars to keep those oil leases of the market. They own no drilling ships to drill off shore in areas already open to them. They have not built a new refinery in almost 30 years. Every one on the right points at environmentalists for this except big oil. We are living the right wing dream. According to recent house hearings on this crisis oil speculators are responsible for about 30% of the current price per barrel (I think it's more). There are those who say oil should be no more than $60 a barrel. John McCain's “economic guru,” Phil Graham, wrote the legislation that deregulated energy which led to Neron (on whose board his wife sat and who paid her A LOT) and also led to this current oil crisis. He also deregulated the finance market which led to the mortgage crisis, remember this in November. Another thing worth pondering is a 1998 interview with Osama Bin Laden in which he was ranting about all the things he hates about America, says we were stealing the oil from Arab people and that what he wanted was oil at $140 a barrel. Makes you wonder.
