I see nothing necessarily wrong with genetic engineering so long as it is used wisely and carefully. Don't give me that "tinkering with God's creation" hooey. Humans have been doing exactly that for thousands of years by selective breeding. Genetic engineering would merely speed up that breeding. Indeed, an entire species owes its very existence to selective breeding. There are really no prehistoric dogs. You had prehistoric horses and donkeys, but dogs began as domesticated wolves. If anyone considers g.e. to be "against God," they are hypocrites if they own and love a pet doggie.

genetic engineering isnt a good idea and research, because we can destroy our natural mankind so we should strongly disagree and do not be a supporters. lets think, how healthy is eating modifitied food? and have 'clones'?

Personally I'm pro-genetic engineering.
I don't have an interest in it for personal gain though. More from a survivability viewpoint. The conditions on this planet will not remain so indefinately. To development of new species and changes to allow survival on other worlds, as a means to aid the continuation of intelligent life would seem to be a far more noble goal to me.
Thumbs up to our future children ;op
This sort of research sounds about as extreme as it gets. There may be numerous benefits on the way, but in the event we do one day manage to populate a new world, lets hope they are less divided and destructive as so many of us...

well i dont know a lot about genetic engineering except that the fact that it is trending now. i am not against this subject beacause as someone earlier said hybridization and cloning forms that are inseparable part of science so we have to live with it. we are not able to find if life exists in other planets or not or the forms of life outside earth and it seems quite impossible so we must do what we can from life within us and may be having idea of doing this is natures new way of evolution. we must be clear that all of us are controlled by the nature and some vital force. even though vital force theory is rejected we all know we believe in god how much ever we try not to. so may b genetic engineering is a new way of doing things by people via nature in originating new life. i am nepali so not much idea about it may be foreigners who read this can give us ideas about this topic. thanx

i wanna some thing saying about genetic engineering.its beneficial for the rapdly growing human beings...but same way some ethical issue are interrpt or blocked its benifits for example human and animals both's living style are diffrent that how can we say that human beings are modrate picture of monkey or champazi.....b/c if we count the earth' life that is not equal to the making the proccess of champnzi or monkey to human being...if seeing the last work of plant breeding that was first plant breeding occur in banana's tree in feroun's time .....
