I know him as well, and he definitely did not mean any harm to himself or anybody else. He's just got a curiosity for these sorts of things and it unfortunately got out of his control. Luckily nothing worse happened to him.

Jeffery and other people posting comments of a rude or insensitive nature -
You can't know or judge a person based off one short article so please stop thinking you can. Mistakes can and do happen to everyone; It's just incredibly unfortunate that his had to have such harsh consequences.
Consider how hurt and upset you would feel if you were in the shoes of anyone closely involved in the situation reading these comments. Just because this is on the internet doesn't mean all civility and empathy can go out the window. Use your high IQs to put yourself in other people's shoes, remember the golden rule that you were taught in kindergarden, and stop making my faith in human kindness decrease even more.

It is terrible that he had to lose most of his hand, but think how you would feel if you were a neighbor of his. He could have hurt a lot of people with his "curiosity".

Wow, HMTD? Maybe smart, and crazy. That stuff will blow from light hitting it.
