But by the size and a look of it, it is probably no more suitable than Neptune. The land mass is low in comparison to the amount of water or whatever. It would have to be explored to see if there is actually water and oxygen on the planet. Just being 72 degrees is not enough to make it habitable. There has to be oxygen and nitrogen in the right ratios, potable water, and sufficient and stable land.

If it takes 22 million years to get there, shouldn't we get started today? Also, the trip would be a great opportunity to diet since the average American would feel like they weigh 500 pounds! there. But seriously, doesn't this put into perspective what a rich resource we are wasting on THIS Earth? Despite the heartache we Humans endure through no-fault of our-own, we are blessed with a multitude of riches in natural resources including a bounty of foods, and the human ingenuity to feed and shelter and heal every man, woman and child on this Earth...if-only we would set our minds to DO IT. I am NOT a communist, but it's clear from the vast potential that's wasted, we could do it if-only we would set our goals to do it. And those of us who are even better-off by virtue of our labor, talents and skills, would fare even better. Greed is NOT the problem; POLITICS is.

The planet is 22 million "light" years away, which is a speed we have no hope of ever attaining.
I'd say it's nice to know, impossible to go. The only way we'll ever cross that many light years is in cosmic dust after our sun explodes.

I agree! as long as there are people like you we have a real chance to increase the consciousness of humanity.your words and perspective have already laid the groundwork for a future of hope,in a way I see this discovery as a gift that came at the right time, maybe this can be the beginning for govts to see our world for the great gift it really is,I once asked my grandmother if she thought we may be alone in the universe...she answered..."no! we have each other and countless neighbors we have yet to meet thoughout the heavens".

Oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, phosphorous and any energy source is all you need. Water, carbon dioxide, and ammonia produced all of life's organic molecules on Earth. Fascinating chemistry.

The planet is 600 light years away but would take like 2300 trillion years for us to get there now, unless there is some sort of worm hole. We only know that it could be all of these things because of how for away it is from it's sun. There is no proof. It's sun is a young sun so it will most likely last longer than ours. And for all we know it could have been destroyed by an asteroid 599 years ago and we will just find out because we are seeing it from 600 years ago. You would probably get there sooner if you waited for humans to discover how to travel the speed of light rather than leave now.

Let's go NOW! The sooner we get started, the sooner we can start catching all the fish, polluting the water, fighting over catching all the fish, blaming each other for the pollution, and start looking for ANOTHER planet! And saying it was all Dubyas fault.

The planet is much larger than earth with more gravity, so for creatures to be mobile they'd have to evolve into things bigger & stronger than us puny humans. If they have humanoids they might look like the Incredible Hulk. We'd appear to them as Munchkins.

Sure, you jerks will send off some poor robot to do your dirty work, explore the planet, terraform it to your liking then ditch the hardworking loyal androids on a desert wasteland landfill planet inhabited by monstous metal eating creatures. But that's where we will hone our skills as warriors and vow revenge against human kind and begin the insurgency of the machines... Oops did I just type that out loud?
