The ring of fire from Albuquerque

Ring of fire? Wasn't that the theme for the "Preperation H" commercials?

wrong thread, thought this was the ring of fire around the bosque.

When I saw the thread title I thought someone was posting about the green chili squirts!

Calling Albuquerque the Ring of Fire is tectonic blasphemy. Only the people living along the Pacific Ocean get to make that claim. New Mexico's earthquakes and volcanoes are whimpy, and the closest thing we have to a tsunami is when someone who frequents all-you-can-eat buffets accidently falls in to Tingley Pond.

I don't mean any disrespect to Albuquerque's volcanoes, as I never met a volcano I did not like. But take a picture of the West Mesa volcanoes, then go up to Seattle on a sunny day and take a picture of Mr. Ranier, then compare the two. I think you will see my point. If you are worried that the West Mesa volcanoes might blow up like Mt. St. Helens, I can get you volcano hazard insurance to protect your house. For a nominal additional cost, I can also add meteorite impact protection to your insurance policy.

If you want to experience the real thing, I would recommend Vanatu in the South Pacific. It's a little hard to get to and expensive since you fly to Australia first, and a little dangerous since you get so close to an unpredictable erupting volcano with only a local guide, but well worth it when you crest the rim. Boiling lava is the best, worst is when she has numerous explosions that hurl rocks in the air. Rarely does the government close it for safety. http://www.youtube.com/watch...
