Gov't taking new steps to combat food stamp fraud

Fingerprinting sounds good to me.

I work with a black dude who is married to an illegal alien . I pretend to be pro-illegal around him and he tells me some of the stuff they do. One of the big frauds is not reporting income and claiming to be a single mother with kids. They are able to collect food stamps this way and other free handouts while working for cash under the table.

I do not know how long you dealt with the "monopoly money" as we called the paper coupons, or how long you have been working with the EBT, but the new system is much better, less costly to administer, and esier to control fraud and abuse. Taxpayers, government, recipients, all benefit.

A provision under the 2008 Farm Act specifically forbids the use of SNAP funds to get cash by buying products for the container’s redemption value, but until recently no penalties existed.

Maine and 10 other states require a bottle deposit ranging from 5 to 15 cents on recyclable beverage containers.

The Bangor Daily News put a spotlight on water dumping in August 2010 after a pair of men purchased $86.79 in bottled water from the Shaw’s in Bangor, dumped it out behind the store and returned the empties for $24.

Store employees at the time described the practice of water dumping as common, a sentiment that is shared by police.

In our area, the card holder just loans the card to a friend. They know each other well enough that that the borrower will return the card.
No need for card replacements.
