That would be an Arctic Oscillation moving cold air down through the U.S.37 degrees in SW Fl. right now. If that isn't global warming I don't know what is. You globies are a riot!
On the other hand, AGW ( Global Average Surface Temperature ) is unaffected because it is about SURFACE not AIR temperatures, and the two generally balance out. The 'heat wave' in the arctic adds to the sum and the cold snap in the U.S. subtracts leaving the sum about the same, other than some influence from ENSO and other factors that affect the heat transfer function between the surface and air.
