Sea level rise: It's worse than we thought

I'm not denying any rising sea levels or warmer temperatures. Just the unscientific speculations of Al Gore and his likes.

Ice has been melting since the last glacial, it seems that no one took any notice until recently, but now it's been blown out of all proportion and has been declared a catastrophe.

Right. Those who push for this enviromental madness do so to blame us all collectively and to think and feel that they are little better and moral than the rest of us.

Here's the usual evidence that disproves it: ice melt was low and stable for 2000 years before the industrial revolution. It's now happening at a rate "greater than almost all periods for ~4000 years".

We need to start thinking, before we offer policy. Reject CO2 restrictions, fossil fuel is good. We need more CO2, I'm not against nuclear, solar or wind, but if they can't warm our climate to stop the coming ice age, they aren't much good.

Even if we are causing climate change (which we aren't, we may be assisting it but we did not cause it) we are not hurting the Earth, the Earth will always reheal itself with or without us. We are just hurting ourselves with all of the pollution. This world is overpopulated anyway. Who cares. I think natural selection needs to make a come back and the rising sea level is a good way to knock the human world population down a peg. I am not a conservative republican or a democrat. I think this needs to happen. We have used the Earth too long and there needs to be a change in the system. As far as animals are concerned, there will always be life on Earth and with every extinct species comes a new one. I know this sounds cold, but it is true. Read a biology text book.

The end of the LIA in 1850/70, coincides with a time when the Industrial Revolution was well underway.
We're told that Earth has warmed rapidly since then and the blame is squarely placed on Co2, with no mention of the fact that Earth is still recovering from a short term cold period that lasted for approximately 500 years.

We should all be grateful to have lived during a warm phase and not worry unduly that warming continues.
Emissions reduction will not reduce warming, the best we can hope for is a slightly less polluted atmosphere.

Rise and fall of sea level is a natural occurrence that simply annoys a few humans, it happens very slowly, so nothing to lose any sleep over.

The data simply does not show an unexpected rise.

The rate looks fairly constant from 1993 to 2010 of about 3.2 mm/yr, and a recent small drop in 2011.

One of the oldest tide gauge benchmarks in the world is at Port Arthur in south-east Tasmania. When combined with historical tide gauge data (found in the London and Australian archives) and recent sea level observations, it shows that relative sea level has risen by 13.5 cm from 1841 to 2000.

Do you see any red flags? The average of the 21 NOAA measured trends is 147 mm/100 years (6 inches). This is a far cry below the IPCC projected 22 inches for the next 100 years.

Sea level rise is no big deal, people can move. The part to pay attention to is the direction desertification will move. Texas will get warmer and dryer and Mexico will get wetter and more tropical. The Sahara will move north, drying some of southern europe. Maybe Mexicans will move back to Mexico from Texas and Texans will migrate to YOUR neighborhoods! Choke on that!
