Women win lawsuit over Saratoga PD locker room

Let's see: 5M x 8, hummn.$40 G's!
Now, that the inconvenience was paid for, the locals should now spend another $40 G's for an additon.
Not a full buidling make-over but an additon that will hold the needed lockers and a few toilets in a bath-room for the police in need.

Surely an addion can be added for $40 G's or less.

In truth from recent price checkings for a "project", it is probable that an "addition" cannot be done for $40 G's!

(recently) A small building for a foundation repair, came in at %38 G's. Then from there it was anything from verbal $8 to 20 G's by a phone info call.

GOOD LUCK trying to get an addition for $40 G's. It probably will not happen.

wait I thought they wanted to be treated like equals? Sharing a dressing room seems pretty equal to me. I think the suit should have said take this money and build the stupid "powder room"
I don't think the individuals should have received it. Maybe they should do the bigger thing and give the money back to get the ball rolling on the dressing room they want. Yes I am a woman and no I do not agree with this.

I have my own opinion. I am a woman and I too agree that we should be treated as equals.

Having a separate bathroom/dressing room has NOTHING to do with being treated equal.. otherwise there wouldn't be separate bathrooms/dressing rooms in malls, stores, restaurants, everywhere else we work or spend recreational time.

Most men are pigs when they're using the same bathroom/dressing room as women. Cops especially since they can "get away with it". If those men treated the women as equals (i.e not gawking at boobs, harassing them as they undress) then there wouldn't be a problem.

Most men are not MATURE enough to handle women in their bathrooms/dressing rooms, so then they become sex offenders. This is means that MEN are the problem, not the women.

And why is it when women say they want to be treated as equals... men tend to abuse this chance by, for example, rolling a towel up and snapping it at the womans butt then say "hey we're treating you like an equal" when in fact it is not equal.

Why does "Equal" have to mean "by mens standards"? There is a line, as a human being, that you don't cross.

well i work as a custodian women bathrooms are just as dirty as mens they dont flush toilets either

all you woman want equal rights co ed locker rooms and bathrooms then i wouldnt have problem with that no one else should either

#1 - I've worked as a custodian - and women are FAR WORSE when they use a public restroom. Maybe it's an attempt to "get even" for having to clean the bathroom at home. Oh -- and don't get going about guy's "mis-aims" when your "hovering" makes as great a mess.

I do agree the city was wrong to have expected both genders to share that facility .. if they couldn't afford separate, then they should have closed the existing LR down.

Heck, restaurant employees' jobs are a lot dirtier and stinkier than a cops, but they don't get a locker room. Why should the police?

Jenn dont place all men in the category of being sex offenders. That is ridiculous. I know many women who are much worse.

I took my boy to college a couple of weeks ago. The college students share a coed bathroom. While I was in using the facility a young lady walked in said, "hi" and continued on to a stall.

If sharing a restroom for boys and girls in college is ok why not for the police? They are adults.

Sexual harrassment is wrong any way you cut it. But it goes both ways.

When I said men are pigs, "pigs" is meant to be taken as dirty minded, not dirty as in they leave the place a mess. I worded that sentence and the rest of that paragraph specifically so that it could be understood the way I intended.

Most men ARE sex offenders, but most of those men would not be listed as one on record because no one does anything about it. And most of those men don't even realize what they're doing is a sexual offense. It seems innocent, but it's not on the woman's point of view. Unfortunately most of those actions are expected and accepted of men so it's looked over.

The main topic is.. most men are not mature enough to handle sharing a bathroom/dressingroom with women. They taunt and pick on women when they clearly do not want to be picked on. It's called respect, women want it. Just because men pick on each other in a dressing room doesn't mean women want to be treated like that... and if men pick on women while picking on men too, it has nothing to do with being treated equal.

and me mentioning the swatting towel example...is an EXAMPLE! and if it happens just ONCE...then it HAPPENS.. no one cares how many times. My husband was in the military for a long time, he has told me it has happened between men to pick on eachother. my EXAMPLE was just an EXAMPLE to prove a point.

Katie and Jenn, where are you getting your "most" stats. Just because you have not been able to find a "nice, honest" man does not mean we all cheat. Maybe you are looking in the wrong place. Some men cheat and some women cheat. Some men are perverts and some women are perverts. There is no most in this. As a matter of fact there are more women prostitutes than men prostitutes.
