I said it before, haul her out, fix her up then LEAVE HER out of the water. Find a nice spot and park her in cement to keep her from falling apart again. She will never sail anyway so why leave her in the corrosive water?

Eh, pitch in those quarters folks.
This, our Falls of Clyde, deserves to be preserved. KOKUA. |

The ship is an important part of history.

Just as long as it doesn't ever get near Nawiliwili...

I think the historical significance of the Falls of Clyde is marginal. Being the last of its kind only means it's obsolete. Its not exactly the USS Missouri. But, if citizens want to devote their time and resources to its restoration, then it obviously has value to many, much similar to the Hawii Railway Society. Good luck and best wishes to them.

1 Not Native Hawaiian history. |

Restore it and turn it into some massage parlor/brothel for the tourists and State legislatures to do some "business" adventure and tax it the same time!
After all, is it not their function to prostitute the laws of Hawaii to enrich themselves? |

1 Eh, portagees reputedly like for talk, but sometimes, as in your case, you don't know what you talking about. Plenny sounds, but no make sense. Our Falls of Clyde IS a part of Hawaii's history. The native Hawaiians continue today as history is made. So, intertwined in the fabric and dear to our hearts and those of our ancestors now passed on, is this, our Falls of Clyde. When we get her all fixed up---and we will---maybe we take you back to the Azores for some portagee bean soup. Pork and Beans and Gravey Join the Portagee Navy Fut, Fut, Fut for Portugal!!! |

May hundreds of volunteers make the effort to help restore this 'Grand Old Lady' to sailing condition again. The immense pride and satisfaction one gets in seeing a tall ship restored is beyond description.
Good luck and God speed in your mammoth job ahead. I look forward to seeing the progress in 18 months when I visit and I will certainly put in a hard day's work. |
