what they should do is give them all knives and let them kill each other. it will save tax payers a lot of money and the prisons wont be over crowded.

I say that we use the inmates who are in for life without the chance of parole as medical test subjects. That way we can get one step closer to finding cures for diseases. They are no good to society and what ever they must have done to end up their for the rest of their lives probably means they affected someone in a terrible way. They are a disgrace to society!

Maybe we should bring back public hangings, lynching and caning. Or stop all the numerous appeals. I say, just one appeal per inmate. If your found guilty by a jury, then that's it, no more actions allowed. If you’re sentenced to death, then go on with it the next day.(Just like they did with Saddam Hussein) Not a bad idea. Or am I the only one who is tired of my tax money providing these creeps with food, shelter, education and medical??

I DON'T RECALL THE ARTICLE SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT IT BEING GANG REALTED, NORTENO OR SURENO. AND AS FAR AS ALL THIS GANG STUFF.. YOU REALLY NEED TO GROW UP. PEOPLE DIE BECAUSE OF WHERE THEY ARE FROM? WERE ALL FROM OUR MOTHER'S WOMBS, OUR CHILDREN ARE LIVING AMONGST ALL THIS ANIMOSITY BETWEEN GANGS. GROW UP AND GET A LIFE. GET A JOB AND LIVE YOUR LIFE WITHOUT BEING AFRAID TO STATE WHERE YOU ARE FROM.

Norcal,
No matter how bad ass you think you are, there is always someone more bad ass than you. You living your MTV wannabe lifestyle doesn't make you cool, it makes you a fool! Get some brains and get an education, put down the bong and make something of yourself before you become another statistic.
Bad dogs get euthanised, why not bad people.

I SO agree with you. If we had immediate consequences, people would think twice before committing a crime. Life without parole would mean just that - LIFE!! A death sentence would mean death; not 25 years making appeals. AND the sentence would be carried out the next day in public. Watch how fast the crime rate would drop then!

Even better. Lets use them for special effects in movies. Not only do they get to be a star, but they get to be blown up, shot, and stabbed by some of their favorite actors and actresses. Do you wanna see this rapist sit on death row for 10+ years? Or do you wanna see Jackie Chan knock his head off with a roundhouse kick in his next movie?

Just an FYI. Crime is never going away and we are always going to need prisons, we just don't have enough in California. Supply doesn't keep up with the demand & it never will. They have to let people out earlier to ease the overcrowding. California's population is huge and with that comes more crime. You can't have a population increase and expect the crime rate to go down. It just isn't going to happen. Folsom State Prison (FSP) does not house any death row inmates. Those are all housed at San Quentin. Additionally, this facility is a medium level facility & the guys there aren't typically known to "cause problems". They also have over 2,000 more inmates than the facility was designed for. California State Prison - Sacramento (aka New Folsom) is a maximum level facility housing guys that have pretty long sentences and/or management problems in other facilities. People confuse the prisons.

To those who believe the answer to the problem is " Let'em have at it" Think of this certain people will take command of the whole prison and then create some type of unity now do you think the animals will stay inside the zoo? No they are coming out and I doubt you will be able to kill them all before they do serious harm. As far as building new prisons, well that isn't the answer either. We can't afford it PERIOD.
The biggest problem we have is unfair sentancing. If I get caught snorting a line of coke up my nose I get sentanced to drug treatment. But let me smoke that same amount of coke but in rocked form I am looking at life, explain that to me and also explain to that inmate why he shouldn't give up hope and be angry

MEE,
I guess the question is am I wrong about you? If I thought the fight would be even I would not have a problem with it. Gang members rely on weapons and numbers to solve altercations, not fists like the old days. I don't condone violence, but if you are going to take on someone, fight fair. Take your licks like a man. It would be stupidity to talk sh*t to a gang of anyone that is looking only to kick the ass of someone randomly. That doesn't make you cool nor righteous, just another worthless individual that is not a productive member of society. Do you see yourself as productive? Do you work, pay taxes, perhaps help others in need of help, have compassion? Or is life just something that screwed you and you think everyone owes you?

And this is my point that you rely to much of what you see on television and in the news. Yeah theres guns, knives, and other weapons that are involved sometimes i wont deny that. But to assume that every fight or incident involeves 10 on 1 attacks and baseball bats is crazy. I am a productive member of society. Work, pay taxes and take care of my responsibilities. But i have also lived the gangster life and dealt with all that comes with it. I dont condone you disliking gangmembers thats youre personal opinion. But to sit up on a message board and call them names and this and that seems kind of spineless. Be a man and say it to their face.

Fair enough. But knives, guns, etc? I realize that that activity is mostly aimed at rivals, the problem is the lawlessness of it. No concern for human life. Damage done to those that have nothing better to do but try to live life to the fullest.
I don't know what your idea of living life to the fullest is, but personally I like to smile once in a while. Laugh at the things in life that bring me joy. Violence does not bring joy, it just breeds more violence.

First off im not from Granite Bay i not sure why it says that. Im South Sac born and raised so disregard whatever the locations it says. Mike_D I applaud you for not attacking me and calling me names and coming at me with decent conversation so ill show that same respect back. No innocent victim should be the target of gang violence. I agree that it is wrong and it makes me mad when an innocent victim is injured. I cant speak for everyone whos been to prison and who was raised in the gangster lifestyle. But I do have respect for society. Ill always be loyal to my neighborhood and where im from. But i have came along way to the point where i own my own home, raise my kids and make a damn good (legal) living. As far Sacramento Mike goes just a typical guy who runs his mouth on the internet....Why would you assume im white? Sounds like you lost!

To those that say hang 'em in the street at sentence; move to a corrupt 3rd world country and see how cool that is. For those who say we should give them all knives; I'd like to see your stoner kid (or yourself) get caught with a few ounces of weed and end up in the clink with a bunch or hardened criminals with knives; great plan.
And to those who say we don't have enough money for more prisons; California could sell the Marin real estate that San Quentin sits on and build 30 prisons with the profits, boost the economy of struggling cities or towns and have modernized, well suited prisons. Instead, we have a prison where nobody in the city its located in works there because they can't afford to live there on prison wages, unless they live on grounds, so they commute from the towns and cities that need the economy.
Jumping back to the give them all knives, I don't think this is too good of an idea but what would be a good idea is to have a prison system UFC where they square up one-on-one and have at it. Not only would this be extremely entertaining but it would mellow out the hype. Think about all the people in prison walking around as though they are the baddest thing to ever hit the pen, but only because he has a posse to back him up. This same guy would be laid back and timid if the whole prison just watched him get whooped up on by some small dude. And to the later that small dud e wouldn't get messed with anymore. It would shut a lot of people up and allow the crap talkers to square up legitimately with their enemies.

Hi,

I have been reading all of your posts here, and I am not going to take sides. I am a Christian, GOD fearing man. Let me tell you a little bit of why I am posting here. In 1999 I met a young boy and his mother, fell in love with her and her son, found out that the father of her child was in prison. I saw a little boy that needed a father that would be there for him. I married this woman in 2001. In 2006 I adopted this kid at 16 years of age, he had just recently found out why his father was in prison. To protect him his mother and I told him he was incarcerated for other reasons.

This inmate that was killed was his biological father. My adopted son was fortunate enough to visit this inmate a few weeks before he left for Army Boot Camp. He got to take a picture with his dad. He was able to conversate with him, to touch him. My son told me he did not agree with the things his father told him. He told him mom "that is my dad in jail" by my adopted dad is my real dad. PLEASE, do not get me wrong, I (we) are not dismissing what his father did to land himself in jail but should we let all inmates run around killing each other? We still have to foot the bill for the investigators, funerals, etc.

My son has lost someone he cares or cared about and now he is training to be an Army Special Forces member, to protect what you and I take for granted everyday - FREEDOM. Just because his bio father was a criminal and a murderer, the apple can often turn out ripe and continue to grown into a full apple tree producing more ripe apples. To this fallen son of GOD, I say RIP brother, RIP. Please pray for my son, the son of this fallen inmate while he has chosen to contiue his tour in the Army by holding up his chin and COMPLETING his basic training even though this tragedy has taken a piece of his heart.

We don't need anymore money for prisons, there is plenty of room in the prisons we already have. Just change it from 2 to a cell to 6. Maybe if we made prison a little less enjoyable, it would actually deter people from going there. No more tv, no more weights, no nothing! Go in and rot in hell!
So you have the perfect child? And you are the perfect parent?

#1 I don't just run my mouth.

also you probably know what I mean when I say I am tired of rich white kids pretending to be bangers noing their not about to be coming to So.Sac. or the heights running their mouths
