Should we close the Mexican border?

I think this poll will be indicative of the local opinion on this subject. I know many Hispanics who came here legally and want this insanity to stop.

Every time a Mexican comes here illegally, their (the ones who came here legally) hard work at becoming a legal resident and later on a citizen is cheapened.
And our standard of living goes down. Our healthcare is further burdened. The list goes on...

Not only should we build a wall. But we should fine homeowners who hire illegals $50,000. And fine business' who hire illegals $1,000,000. That ought to eliminate illegals incentive for coming over here, and help offset some of the costs of dealing with the immigration problem.
Will it ever get done? No. Our leaders want cheap labor so we(as a country) can compete with other countries economically - its always about the economy - They don't care about the citizen's point of view. We as a people need to realize that the gov't is not of the people for the people and by the people. The gov't has overstepped the bounds of the constitution time and time again, they manipulate the masses through lies dispersed through the bought and paid for media. They have, in my opinion, committed treason. Which is why they want to take away our guns and assume totalitarian control.

Why does the middle class have to pay for illegals. Health care costs are out of control! I wonder why? Every time you turn around they want another tax for the schools when 40% of new students don't speak english! Health care for "the" childern! why not tell the truth? I don't want to pay for kids of illegals. Build the fence or come up with the money to support the illegals or get rid of them! don't come to the middle class and expect us to support these people. Also no more kids becoming citizens when born here.

Then you need to check out Dr. Ron Paul and his positions on the subject. Right in line with yours...and mine as well.

Where in the Constitution does it state that it's the responsibilty of the US taxpayer to support the world?

Close the damn border and build the wall.

vote is a NO BRAINER, of course we want the border closed...you know A LONG time ago, there used to be a immigration quota...and Mexico wasn't open like it is now...some BIG changes need to be made. Write your local congress...don't let THEM be the majority here!

During times wherein we are at war, I think its a very good idea to close the borders. What I don't understand, though, is why Americans are herded like cattle through airport checkpoints and told you can't carry a babies bottle full of milk or have more than 3 ounces of toothpaste, but if you're coming into the U.S. from Mexico, there seems to be MUCH less security. I sure wish someone in the government would explain that to me.

Immigrants of all races and colors need jobs. In the past new immigrants did entry or lower level jobs and worked their way up. Only the Up now, thanks to cheap labor, isn't so up. Having a massive sea to sea cheap labor force is what seems to please Corporations and their supporters in Politics.

I met plenty of people who want the jobs that illegals do, because they need to earn a living. Is it fair to come legally, have your citizenship cheapened and then find jobs are going to illegals.

I have met Legal people from So.America who have been replaced by illegals, yes one legal hispanic prejudice against other legal hispanic and hiring illegals of his own "nationality." That should NOT be happening!

Mr. Fox of Mexico started a Lie and everyone just repeats his Lie. Mr. Fox's lie is based on the fact he & rich Mexicans don't want the Mexican poor in their country so he exports them.

Would that well known reason be we have to pay taxes and can not afford to work for less. I have and can and will do any dirty job you can mention. Go back home and do a job Americans wont do and that is clean up the mess in your homeland.

This is an excellent idea. Cutting off tourist dollars would put a huge dent in Mexico’s economy. Every place I have visited in Mexico was equally filthy with the same vendors of fake gold and Chiclets. What is the attraction anyway?

I was so pleasantly surprised to see the responses to this poll. I thought I was the only one who felt this way. Michael Savage, while quite angry at times, is right when he says that what defines a nation are its "borders, language and culture". A lot of what I see in the media indicates that most people don't agree, but check out the poll totals here, they say something completely different. Canada did away with their anchor baby laws as they were having such a huge problem with Chinese immigrants arriving pregnant. Their social systems barely operate as it is, so they put a stop to it. Our social systems are under a huge strain. Remember to get out there and vote folks, it's the only way we can be heard!
