I definetly saw it too! I was on 680 in Walnut Creek going northbound right around 5:30-6:00 p.m. Just happened to look up and saw it for a good 5 seconds or so and then it vanished! To me it looked orange/yellow/red and had some sparks or flames right as it vanished!

I was leaving a friend's house @ around 8:30pm from around W. Parrot & San Leandro Blvd. in San Leandro. It was a clear and unseasonably mild night. I saw what appeared to be a fairly large fireball that had a blueish white stream or tail coming out the back of it. It was flying silently at what seemed quite slow like around 30-40 mph about 100-400ft. above the ground. It was flying parallel to the ground and not at an extreme angle or anything like that. I was waiting to hear a collision, something like an explosion because of the proximity to the ground and civilization. It never happened, but I will never forget that experience...I was completely alone on the street walking in a quiet neighborhood, when this occurred. I was on my way home back to the west bay along the San Mateo coast. Anybody see that one???

I have been on the computer all evening looking for ANY news about the fireball that I saw around 5:30 pm.
I live in the Bay Area (Pittsburg). I was driving home and waiting for the signal to change. I just happened to look up when I saw it streaking across the sky. It was traveling east to west. It was big and very bright, and had a long tail. It also had some green in it. If you saw it as well - pleaserespond.
At about 5:55pm in Hudson NY, I saw something that sounds exactly like what you describe seeing... Any new thoughts on what it might have been?

Lisa, we saw it too! We were driving north on route 9 near walmart and I looked up and saw the fireball that you described, it started out white and went to green and red with a conical tail. It was visible for a good 5 seconds until it broke up a little. There was a delta wave when it first appeared.

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Virgo

If you've got an important task to accomplish, this is the time to do it. A Libra Moon ensures that you're level headed, focused and unmoved by the behaviour of others for the next day or so. Don't put any undue pressure on yourself, Virgo: if you don't get it right the first time, you know there'll be another chance. The pessimistic people that you are likely to encounter today need your logic and positive input.
