The illegals say thank you for providing welfare to us, giving us food stamps, medical care and so much more for free. Because of this kind and so liberally minded state we appreciate you putting your American citizens on furlough so we can continue to suck this state dry! What a state

Furloughs might not be a bad way to even things out if they also applied to pension benifits.

If they furloughed all government workers 1 day a week that would be a 20% savings, and perhaps lots of them wouldn't have nothing to do for half their day.

Our leadership in this country shows that 75% or more of the people in this country are stupid or don't care.

Hey, the furloughs are no big deal. Most of California's state employees do very little when they ARE at work anyway!!!!

There is a lot of verification to prove that you are a U.S. citizen when you apply for food stamps, welfare, CalWorks, etc. Very few, if any, are receiving these services. Check your facts before you blame them for our incompetent politicians who refuse to raise taxes on the very wealthy.

Furlough the Governor and the Legislature
Cut the pay for elected officials, if the workers and the average citizen has to suffer, they should also. Cut Schwarzenegger's pay.

you pretend to pay me, i pretend to work.
Does anyone really think this will solve the states problems? Do you think the clowns in Sac. will lower your taxes? This is just less money circulating causing more of the same problems. It might be the entitlements received by illegals, huh?
All this noise about retirement comes from those too lazy, stupid or both, that haven't planned for their old age. They didn't go to school to make themselves a better worker so their jobs got shipped overseas. They have put ZERO dollars away in a 401k and now they face a sad life of eating dog food in their old age. Sorry! You lose! I put away in a 401k and now have a little Calpers plus maybe a little from Social Security, unless that gets furloughed too!

When are the people in this state going to wake up and replace all those morons in Sacramento, every year it's the same BS and they don't give a dam what the voters think. The ones that should be getting a pay cut is not the employes they have nothing to do with the budget, Everyone of those Morons in Secramento that that were elected to run this state ,not run it into the ground should not receive on cent of their salary or per deim until a budget is passed as they were elected to do. None of their salary or per deim is to be paid back rectroactive and you will see how fast that buget is passed,it's time for the voters to take this matter into their own hands

All losers! When are people going to realize that these politicians do not care about you or anyone else. They only care about doing more damage to the state and about acquiring more wealth. They are ruthless evil people. Please wakeup!

Well at least we know how to spell and use proper English. Let me show you: "If they furloughed all government workers for 1 day a week, that would be a 20% savings. Then perhaps a lot of them wouldn't have anything to do for half of their day." Please, when insulting us, at least show some intelligence, otherwise you only show your ignorance. Of course you might be an illegal alien and therefore still learning the language, so in that case your welcome for the lesson, just one more free thing you can look forward to.

What the governor should address is the fact that millions of illegal immigrants have bankrupted California. Until he discusses this, California will continue to spiral downward.

Step right up, folks! You gotta see it to believe it! We've got dancing legislatures, moronic senators, scary, bearded assemblymen...and the show's top billing, a grumpy but powerless Governor.

Welcome to Circus Californus. Brought to you by clueless, out-of-touch voters who consistently pick morons to run the show, and then send us the bill.

See what happens when someone who is really not qualified gets the job..........Arnie go get the $ from all your rich donor friends.......California is home to some of the wealthiest people in the world! Yet the backbone of this State are the people who cannot afford furlough days....that is not how you close the deficit.....tax people accordingly and quit being a carpet for big business!!!!!!!!!!
