Went to start the car, and well...nothin' doin'.

Popped the hood to look at the battery connections, get a start....and WHAT?!? No battery. No. Seriously.

First call is to my big Bro, because he knows everything vehicular. He patiently explains the red and black 'wires' will lead to the battery. I patiently remind him he's had me crawling around in engines since I was a 'tween, because I fit better.

There is no battery. Well, we all know there IS a battery, it's just a matter of WHERE the darned thing is. The alternator is in clean sight, a good start for following the red and blacks. Except you lose them somewhere under the....other stuff.

My neighbor happened to notice that I had the hood open, pacing and talking on the phone, and came to the rescue! As far as I'm concerned, the rescue was to evaluate the situation and agree. There is no battery. Or at least, no battery in sight. Cell phone to the rescue!! He calls and asks someone to find where the battery is, but in the meantime, we've found the connectors to jump the silly lil thing. Not that I'm confident enough to drive it off, stop at the gas station, and have 10 other helpful, mechanical people agree that there is no battery once I try to start it again.

I have a 2003 Dodge Stratus. Anybody wanna take a guess (or cheat by checking YouTube) WHERE the battery is..?!? Because I NEVER would have found it. Well, that's not true. I HAVE the owner's manual, and DID find it, but REALLY?!?! Dodge...*shakes head*

I love my Ford. I know where everything is, and can do a bit of fixing, if I have to. I open the hood on this thing, try to look like I know what I'm doing, and gently close it again. I'll even admit to a bit of transmission fluid in the power steering reservoir. I was told afterwards that it wasn't as harmful as I thought. Whew.

Anywho....all batteries I've ever had to replace have taken all of about 10 minutes, generally due to the fact that the corrosion made it a lil difficult to remove, and a lil cleaning before applying to the new posts. This took an hour. And help. No corrosion.

Ok I cheated and googled it! LOL, that is the stupidest place ever! LOL.... I was going to guess the trunk though, but that would not work to well for the car I guess. Glad it all worked out for you though.

Yeah, Ann, that was a bit surprising..! The manual says you can actually 'access' the battery by turning the tires all the way to the right, but not a CHANCE in getting it out. Taking the tire off is the only logical choice.

OK...my vent for the month. I called my cell provider to pay my bill. When prompted, I said, "English". She (It) answered, "I'm sorry, I did not understand you." WTF??!

EVERY question she (it) asked after that, I said, "English." She (it) never understood me. Am I in some foreign country? Are THEY in some foreign country? Can I call a foreign country and get an English speaking pseudo-customer-service-rep??

Domino's Pizza is the only place that will deliver out here in the hicks. First question? Press 1 for ENGLISH. ARE YOU KIDDING????????

OK. I'm done venting. For now. Until I order my next pizza, or pay my cell phone.

Hi People, I have traveled across the country just to visit with you all. It is 10:39 here and the day is almost half way through. Still early morning for you all.

I've never been to your state but I have loved it since I became a Beach Boys fan~a~tic back in the day. Yeah.I'm old school. I have a son that lives there and I plan to visit him this summer. He tells me there are not that many fans of the Boys in California. Newsflash: There aren't that many of us anywhere as we are a dying breed.lol
Maybe I should just take my coffee to go. And be your first post for March,2012.
If any diehard Beach Boys fans do read this,I will expect some Goooood Vibrations from you.

Almost 33 weeks 7 more to go unless she comes sooner which is always possible in my case but it looks like mommy and baby are holding up.
