Maybe if we didn't spend billion paying dirtbags to sit on their butts and collect a check from the taxpayers for nothing, we wouldn't have to do this at all. Welfare and other state entitlement programs are so riddled with fraud they should be scrapped entirely.Something like 46% of the state is on one form of aid or another. The other 54% of us can't afford to carry them anymore. It's time they got off the teet and were made to fend for themselves.

I'm sure that all of the illegal aliens will solve the state's budget problem, after all, California is a sanctuary state.

Here we go again. I guess I will be back to banking my furlough hours. I already have over 300 hours on the books. It is very hard to get to use them. It will be a nice chunk of change when I cash it out. Arnie you are a joke. You will and have not saved ONE penny during these furloughs. What a waste of space you are.

Arnie is just going to make the state have to pay alot more down the road by ordering furloughs. This is a stupid idea.

Should not be allowed to save hours.
Unions must take a big pay cut or move unemployed people.
The solution is simple.

The state needs to reduce business taxes, even when jobs are not being created.

Why do some people think the state workers are the reason for all budget problems? We have taken a big paycut the last 18 months. And haven't had a raise in 5 years. What have you done for your state to help? I picked this job for the pay and reitirement! Sorry you made your choices and they aren't as good as a state job. I will enjoy my 3.0% at 50 retirement because I earned it! You chose your job and I chose mine.

The politicians have made California a Sanctuary State. The burden of the illegal aliens and welfare recipients has more to do with California's plight than the State Employees. The problem is that it is more politically correct to focus on the State Employee than those poor downtrodden welfare recipients and illegal aliens (future Democrat votes when the Obama amnesty kicks in).

Most of the Sanctuary Cities are going broke, having to lay off and furlough employees to remain solvent. Sound familiar?

Janet, I have an advanced college degree, and a wall of technical training certificates, many of which I paid to attend on my own time. I work at least 70 to 90 hours a week at my job, and I've lost vacation (I'm over my cap) every year for the past 5, because I'm too busy at work to take the time off. Why cut my pay? Why not volunteer to do my job yourself? And you'd better carry a cell phone, as I'm often called to respond to emergencies at night and on weekends. And no, I'm exempt, I don't receive overtime or CTO for those extra hours. How about you, sister?

Look, Cops, Firemen, teachers are all sucking the state of California dry! They make too much money and can retire at age 25 it seems.

Make retirement min age 70 and you can keep your cush jobs.

I totally agree with you. The problem I have is Arnie is so mad at not getting his way, that he is basically using blackmail and extortion to exert control. The state hasn't saved one penny from these furloughs. In fact, overtime is off the hook where I work. His ego gets in the way of everything. He is a legend in his own mind.

YEP, the furloughs backfired when applied to those places which must stay open 24/7. Some knucklehead made the decision to furlough C/Os and that decision has already backfired in the overtime. I guess Arnie thought that convicts could be sent home on furlough days and they would return to do their time when the C/Os came back - NOT!

And I've got news for you, kid. I voted Republican in every election, and I haven't missed a single one in more than 30 years. I own my own home(s), and have no debt at all, thanks to my investments. Why do you want *me* to move to Cuba? What good do you offer this country, except for running your mouth? Did you fight for America, or are you one of those dope-smoking hippies who think they are so "cool"?

As a matter of fact I did serve my country and I am no kid. If you are a republican, you are a disgrace to your party. Your fearless leaders, Andy Stern and all the other communists are shaping a plan to destroy this country and you are helping them. You should be ashamed of yourself and SEIU

Daily Horoscope for February 13

Gemini

This is a good time to take stock of your actions and the direction you're going in. Are your efforts getting you anywhere or leading you astray and scattering your energy? If you're putting in the work but not moving forward, you're not on track. The old adage 'cut your coat according to your cloth' is good advice. Be simple and purposeful and don't waste time with things that get no practical results.
