I'm 5'11, and athelic. I live in a 4 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage house, on 5 acres, and I make a little over 60,000 a year something tells me that I'll never have anything to worry about. Unreal. In my understanding it seems as if there is a stigma when it comes to white men/black women. Aside from my own relationship and and 1 other couple I know I have yet to see another white guy/black girl couple. You see the black guy with a white girl non stop all day every day. Why is we don't see the the other side? I can't even remember when I last saw one of these inter racial relationships. When ever other white guys see me and my fiance together they start to whisper to each other. I always wonder what they are thinking or saying. I usually just assume they ask each other would they or have they ever dated or been with a black girl. Oh I'm Hispanic with dark skin. I'm not even black so try and figure that one out!

I was never brave enough to ask my any of my guy friends out on a date because i assumed that they would'nt find a african chick attractive. I am more confident now and believe that I am beatiful. Black women who are middle class and looking to better themselves in terms of education, environment, etc are still stuck on trying to please their family, friends, etc- that means dating ONLY black men. But this isn't 1968 this is 2008 and we, as black women should learn to look at All races, including white men to find a good partner. I have had good and bad experiences with white men as well as black men and find that a GOOD man wants the same thing regardless of race... a loving partner, who is willing to be faithful to him and care.. so with that said.. the original thread... "just be yourself" and a good guy will come along
