How much money is the State spending on the war on global warming/climate change? This is the largest waste of money and the biggest scam the State has indulged in. All the shrill from the left, all the rant from these kooks and for what? The dire predictions from the likes of al gore and his catamites have fallen short. The big lie is exposed more each day. Billions could be cut from the State budget mess. The anthropogenic global warming issue is a total scam.

All, we mean ALL the political figures in California should lose their jobs, both republican or democrat. Although I trust the Republicans more in these times (as the democrats only want to spend more and tax more), they are all crooks.

Hard working Americans suffer everyday, they offer IOUs and sit in their high seats smoking their cigars and not caring in the world.

Two comments: First what kind of fool would doubt a whole LOT of scienists? oh well, hello welcome to walmart. Better to error on the side of caution when the PLANET would be the loser. The only harm would be, oh yea, clean air.

Lastly, there is no sense in even talking about our Calif congress and the Budget. IF we truly want to see something done about OUR budget then ALL Republicans, Democrats and Independents must STOP voting for anyone with "incumbent" next to their name. This means EVERYONE must stop you cannot vote for him/her because he/she is also a Republican (Democrat) and say to your self it is only the other side that is wrong. IF we vote them ALL out in mass just watch how there replacements act and do what is right because then and only then will they realize we are not the FOOLS they NOW think we are. The choice is yours and PLEASE stop complaining if you do the same oh same because if vote for the same oh then YOU are part of the problem.

Actually, more and more scientists have backed away from the global warming kool-aid. But that's a different subject for a different day.

We spend 1/2 of our money on education and yet we seem to have the most uneducated kids in the country. I conduct hundreds of interviews per year. It is EMBARRASSING how so many kids cannot put together a decent resume. Grammar is pathetic. Honestly, if the cover letter isn't at least "almost" grammaticaly correct I move on to the next one. At best, graduating from a 4 year school today is the equivalent of graduating from high school 30 years ago.

I'm always reading about how screwed up the LAUSD (and other districts) is, how truancy is rampant, etc.. It's basically the world's largest daycare center! Stop this nonsense. Kids that are not serious about school, who can't show up, who can't get half decent grades should "let go" after the 9th grade. It's a total waste of money. Money should be spent on the kids who actually WANT to learn. But they get stuck with all of the idiots and troublemakers.

2 points. Kant used the same argument for believing in God. You can't know by empirical evidence, so better to err on the side of believing in him so you're better off on "the other side". The other thing is term limits. You get only 2 cracks at anyone in any particular office. What would you think on the flip side if someone you found actually pursued reduced government successfully and was being termed out?

Why does it matter that someone "smells of cigars"? This is the third paragraph in the story?

And what about the new taxes being considered. If cigar smell is important to report, isn't the threat of new taxes also important?

How can anyone claim to be good journalists when they report on serious matters in this way?

There is a large expense to the California taxpayer that can be controlled, yet the state won't face the problem: It's illegal immigration. Why isn't the California and the Federal Government enforcing it's immigration laws? Why aren't services being cut to these people? As California is being overrun by uncontrolled numbers of illegal immigrants using up lots of tax dollars and resources, why is virtually nothing being done to end this problem?
This problem will only become worse, more complex, and more expensive as time passes. Iand it's already too expensive now for California. This state needs to stop being the educational, medical, healthcare, jail, and prison system for illegal immigrants, no matter where they comefrom.

A whole lot of "scientists" tried to fool us into thinking that we were entering another ice age back in the early "70s.

Oh well, the only fools around here are those that "think" we can tax and spend our way out of debt.

You hit the nail on the head...."global warming" is a pathetic scam and power grab for taxpayer money. You can still have policies for clean air without all the hysteria and hokey alarmism. They are so far off, they won't even call it "warming" anymore, now it's "climate change". The earth's climate has changed many times over thousands of years (evidence= tropical plants fossils on northern climate regions of North America, ice age glacial remains, etc). Warmed up, cooled down, warmed up, cooled down. Man didn't have a damn thing to do with any of it then and won't have a damn thing to do with it when it happens again. That's a fact.

half the budget go's to education, California has the largest Illegal Alien population(we are paying for illegal kids). I wonder if the elected officials can put 2 and 2 together and figure out where they can cut the budget without causing any harm to the legal residents of this state.

Global Warming is a hoax, carbon credits are making AL Gore rich.

Call our Legislators. Tell Bonnie and Alan that we are behind them 100%. Any thing they can do to further degrade, dishonor, and devalue California will be cheered by Long Beach Democrats.

We are firmly committed to destroying any chance for our children to survive our Party's diabolical anti citizen agenda.

No one could accuse LB Dems of being smarter than a fifth grader at election time. We are more animal than human.

Just think for a minute if the 2/3's super majority requirement weren't in place ??????

It would make it easier for Califs current majority party to raise OUR taxes anytime they felt like it, of course to ONLY help out their union supporters. Meanwhile the rest of the taxpayers are left holding the empty bag ...

Come November 2009 let's kick out all of the PRO-union politicians.

The logical step would be to institute a 2/3 majority for SPENDING BILLS.

Only that could save Calif. from the diabolical gangsters who call themselves Democrats at election time in what remains of our State.

Daily Horoscope for November 8

Aries

The Moon enters playful Leo and your fifth house of romance and creativity, helping many of you to feel rejuvenated. Some of your friends may not agree with your idea of fun, but that's okay... you'll be feeling creative and should allow yourself free rein to do your own thing. There could be some emotional tension as the Sun clashes with the tender Moon, but it should pass quickly.
