Says the fokes who love to use reverse discrimination and look as if there is nothing wrong with the pot calling the kettle black (I love it two puns in one sentence!). Lets be real, the reason the NAACP is getting behind this is simple, the more black folk who are high are going to need welfare services, so there will be more need for government handouts, which means the NAACP will be given more grant dollars to show that for some reason since the legalization of mary jane, a disproportionate amount of young black men are out of work.... seems a little self serving if you ask me.

I am glad you a forum to get your issues out in the open. Let's be perfectly clear though, I don't smoke, sell, or transport any illegal drugs. Nor do I call wellfare anything else but wellfare... well maybe just government candy. Also as you are simply taking my statements here and assuming that I am a white person, I rest my case on where the rascisim lies. I don't know what color you are and I don't care, the NAACP (Never Assist A Colored Person) has a long history of supporting legislation that was never intended to help the black population. I wont argue with you that there are also many whites, hispanics, and asians that are smoking as well, but the reason the NAACP is backing this is because of that there is perception that there is a disproportionate balance of blacks that would be "helped" by the legalization of marijuana. This is ludicrist, if you want to help people you help them get off the drugs not stay on it... no matter if it is minority of the population or the majority of the population.
Get out of the haze, read some history on the organization, and then take a look at what they are trying to do.

Just for the record folks, cannabis has nothing to do with those (black, white, etc) on welfare. it's the laziness of the person and their own lack of responsibility and self control that puts healthy people on welfare. Millions of people smoke/vaporize cannabis yet still live normal, healthy and responsible lives. Let's stop placing blame on everyone and everything except for those who are actually responsible for their lot in life.

Intheloop you said "growing up white all my life" that hits the nail on the head. Your reality is being white in America and always will be. When you have the opportunity to live as a colored you will have to right to speak on the experiences of a colored person, which of course you will never be able to do and in turn your opinion regarding the subject will always equate to nothing.

Good: Well from my perspective what I can attest to is the racism I have experienced from people of other races towards whites, what I can attest to is that as much as I hear that there are these monumental societies that are working together to hold the black man down, I have not seen them. So you see, we all have our perspectives and reach our own conclusions based on life experiences. I just don't think someone who goes around believing they are a victim and feel that there is this organized effort to keep them down will ever be anything but a victim. Further, spreading that kind of hate to their children and grandchildren just breeds more victims. But I get what you are saying.

70% of all black babies are born out of wedlock. As a percentage, there are more single black mohter than any other race. Why? Where are the black fathers? You need to get your own house in order and have some respect for yourself and black women before you blame anyone else for your own, self-made problems. It is called personal responsibility. Nope: Just don't pick on black folk. The stat you quote is not a stat but only someones best guess. Real studies would indicate 50% of black children, 50% of hispanic children, 33% of white children, 59% of swedish children, are born to unmarried women. But what the stat doesn't show is that so many people cohabitate and have children. This doesn't mean they don't have a mommy and a daddy. But it is true that given the prison population across the US, blacks account for almost 1/2 the prisoners, hispanic and whites are about even. Black men aren't home because they are locked up.

The state with the lowest rate of out of wedlock children is Utah which also happens to have the highest rates of marriage. Imagine that.

It is not about race fella. It is about morals and the loss of religion in our country. Religion historically kept families together but with churches shutting down at all time highs, we are losing ourselves in immorality. No question.
