Full story: Chicago Tribune

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia - At first, the purpose behind the midday raid at a human-rights group's office here was murky.

uncle joe was a great guy. loved kids and animals. was a dapper dresser. had goos taste in music and movies.

no one who personally dealt with him ever had anything bad to say about him- of course, they never were seen again to talk to, but hey that's another story.

I've seen many of his posts. If grammar and spelling are any indication of the level of an individuals education, I'd say this guy might have a G.E.D.

So, you are analogizing the revisionist history of a mass murderer with a domestic terrorist and a politician? I agree that there is whitewashing in the United States, but Ayers and Obama are really poor examples for your argument.

What about all the Jewish people Stalin killed, or the millions that died in Gulags?

So did Bush.

And that's good enough for you?

Explains a lot, I suppose.

Ask any of the Poles about Katyn--during the Soviet years, no Pole could discuss the tradgedy of the Polish calvary at this post.

The truth is out now--was this really necessary for the "glory" of Russia??

Adding--no Pole could say anything about the truth behind Katyn without being arrested or even executed.

"Colonial peoples today look to the Soviet Socialist Republics. They see how under the great Stalin millions like themselves have found a new life. They see that aided and guided by the example of the Soviet Union, led by their Mao Tse-tung, a new China adds its mighty power to the true and expanding socialist way of life. They see formerly semi-colonial Eastern European nations building new People's Democracies, based upon the people's power with the people shaping their own destinies. So much of this progress stems from the magnificent leadership, theoretical and practical, given by their friend Joseph Stalin.

They have sung - sing now and will sing his praise - in song and story. Slava - slava - slava - Stalin, Glory to Stalin. Forever will his name be honored and beloved in all lands. "

-- Paul Robeson, "To You, Beloved Comrade" -- a eulogy to Joseph Stalin published in New World Review, April, 1953 (and reproduced here to to remind those who might forget how many 'useful idiots' the Man of Steel had in the West).

Obama also worked in Harvard Law's administration as an editor for the Harvard Law Review. Clearly a position of responsibility. Bush was so enthralled by a children's story that he kept reading it even after a secret service agent told him the two most prominent buildings in our largest city have been attacked by terrorists. So no, just getting a degree from somewhere does not prove anything but there are other indicators for one's level of intelligence.

Watch for the United States to do the same under B.O. - he can revise history at the drop of a hat and has done so. He has remade his image so many times, you can't count all the versions of his life and his terrorist friends.

Congratulations! You are in the running for **** of the year. Ayers activities have been listed in the media and did not kill millions of people.
That wasn't for lack of trying. Just because he was an inept terrorist doesn't make him a good man.

Hehe. I bet that's just the emotional response the author of the article wanted to produce.
That's typical.
Ordinary Iranian similarly thinks 'Iran is still a darn good place to live' after reading about USA in an local newspaper :)

Otherwise the article worth nothing for you, american dudes. One must know Russia very well to understand what really happens around the Stalin's figure.
