Well, you see, for the CoS, "business as usual" means sucking the last bit of money from the last few members. There are no new members, and the existing members are rapidly becoming tapped out, deeply in debt, totally screwed. So, you see, business as usual, for the CoS, is continuing down the road to financial ruin of all their members, and ... well ... running out of people to pry money out of. It just doesn't seem that the Cos "business as usual" is the same as "doing well", if you get the picture. There just aren't that many Scientologists with any money left.

Headache, gee wow you got me on that. I guess now you've just gone and completely discredited everything I have to say on the subject of $cientology. You're stats must be soaring! Congrats. Now, I admit it is terribly silly of me to lump all pre-eduction history "the dark ages." I sometimes even have the audacity to throw the stone age in there too! But, really, does insulting my intelligence make YOUR argument about $cientology any more or less valid or does it just make you feel better about yourself to point out others' inaccuracies? The point you missed was that I can excuse society coming up with ridiculous beliefs due to an absence of education. I can understand people sticking with it as part of their culture and tradition. I just can't go along with defending this cult's ridiculous beliefs just because the others are ridiculous too. I do not in any way excuse the abuses and manipulations of ANY religion. But their guilt in no way justifies the guilt of the cult of $cientology. You wanna go after the Catholic church or the other evils of the world, go ahead, I won't stand in your way. It's a shame you won't show the same consideration.

I don't see the CoS having to sell their properties to come up with the cash to pay off pedophilia victims to silence their charges. Interesting how citizens of NM have OK'ed being the dumping grounds for Pedophile Priests but CoS is out of bounds. Tell me: based on what you now know about the Catholic Church are you really OK with sending your kids to places where Priests are with them? What does that little voice inside your gut tell you, Sucka! Then you obviously aren't paying enough attention: http://www.scientology-lies.com/press/ny-post... http://technorati.com/videos/youtube.com%2Fwa... http://www.lermanet.com/scientologynews/washi... www.taxexemptchildabuse.net These are just a few examples. If you want to know more about the REAL scientology, people who've died, been abused by them there's always these sites: www.whyaretheydead.net www.exscientlogykids.com www.lermanet.com And of course the general database of all things scientology: www.xenu.net Good examples of their mafia like behavior can be seen with their propaganda websites, but don't take my word for it, have a look and evaluate their "evidence" for the dreadful things they say about their ex-members and critics: www.religiousfreedomwatch.org If you think they're not dangerous, just look at the words they use to describe peaceful protesters, the families of people the cult has killed; "anti-religious extremists" "terrorists" "hate-groups" The CoS is not a friendly organisation, they're more mafia like than you realise.

The brand of Catholicism that's smoked in these parts has close to 2,000 years of cross-controlled political/religious conspiracy behind it. The kind of stuff that runs entire nations, not playing Monopoly in places like Clearwater and Q Town. This is all about men with funny hats, munitions, armies and gold. The CoS isn't a pimple on the Church's butt. If you are looking for a Real Threat the address is: St. Peter's Basilica 666 Pope Blvd. Rome, IT One more thing, speaking of 'hitman'. What religion does the Cosa Nostra practice? you know the Italian-Sicilian Mafia. And what Church do the Mexican drug cartels faithfully attend? Every religion has their bad points. If you don't like New Mexico then leave.

Wow, amazing how some people get off on their own little, weird tangents. They seem rather proud of the fact that they haven't a clue as to the subject of the thread: Scientology in Albuquerque. Is it that they can't keep track of the subject? Is it that they desperately want to sidetrack the discussion? Is it that their mind just wanders around like that naturally? Who knows? Quite amusing.

No kidding, it seems that the headache wants to try and change the subject into something he thinks he knows something about because (s)he obviously doesn't have a clue about the subject of $cientology but wants to "win" an argument anyway. Again, headache, if you wanna take those other religions on, you'll be fighting thousands of years of tradition and culture. Good luck with that. We cannot very well hop into a time machine to go back and "nip those in the bud." But right now something CAN be done to nip THIS cult in the bud before the problem gets any worse. Just understand that this cult isn't anywhere near as benign as it tries to play itself off as. Google "project normandy" to see how they went about their takeover of the city of Clearwater. Learn from that, and do not allow it to happen to your own city. Do some fact-checking on google before you joust with people who actually know the subject matter.

Isn't it the Afhan warlords who are such good muslims that they dress young boys up as women and keep them for concubines? http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/07/08... One wonders about the early relationship between Lron and Davy. Hmmm...

Has anyone got a link to the BBC Panorama programme, any doubters on this page can see for themselves the true, nasty side of Scientology (and Fair Game).

Yes, Absolutely, Find out what they are producing. What are they trying to contribute to the area if it is good then let them, don't go by what other people say find out for yourself and ask Questions, will it help the progress of the community and how? will it help bring down crime How? Will it help to Educate our people and how? Will it help under community crises how? Do they have proof of what good can happen if they get the Gizmo building? will they bring economic growth for the near by venders? what have they done in the past that is proven good will efforts for the benefit of the community and it's prosperity?

Dino What a strange list of criteria for deciding a zoning variance. Do you think this is normal? The building isn't zoned for a church. The area isn't zoned for churches. Churches don't fit in there. It's zoned for business. Why on earth would a church want to force itself into a business area? That just doesn't make any sense -- unless it was really a business, CLOAKING itself as a church for legal and tax purposes. Hmmm? Trust me, the "church" of Scientology sets up shop there, it WON'T be good for other businesses in the area. Ask the non-Scientology businesses in downtown Clearwater Florida ALL about it. Not good.

From what I have seen, whenever this church moves into a busy area, the crime rate actually goes DOWN in that area. And the people I have come across are very friendly to talk to. Just normal folks. Give them a break. Check out their website at www.scientology.org to find out what they are really about. Alex

Have you star-rated the OSA hat pack yet? Have you bought your "Basics" yet? Check out the website at www.xenu.net to find out what the Church of Scientology is REALLY about.
