I don't do magick and I'm really not too familiar with spells, but I was reading a book recently that discussed some really basic spells for if you're having trouble at work, like keeping a backstabbing co-worker from entering your office, or getting the boss off your back. Stuff of that nature. Well, I got to wondering...I have a really bad neighbor, heavy drinker, foul mouth, argumentative, and she has two teen sons who freely vandalize homes, wreck gardens, etc. Recently her sons heaved a huge rock into my back door and splintered it so I had to call the cops because I rent my house. As usual she denied that her sons were involved even though the cops found a stockpile of rocks in her backyard. Several nights later she got drunk and came out about 3 am and was shouting on a cellphone and repeatedly calling me a "B" to whomever she was on the phone with and I couldn't get any sleep.

In short, is there a spell to keep neighbors away from you?? Or to just get them to leave you alone?

Correct me if I am wrong, but if it is 3 am and she is causing a lot of noise, I think that it counts as disturbing the peace and she could get cited for that.

I'm not into spellcasting except to heal or for protection. I'm of the opinion that many in our path use spellcasting as a crutch when a problem can be solved by mundane means.

In the case of the neighbor each state has laws that can be used to protect you. Local law enforcement can be consulted for advice on what to do.

Best case scenario would be to be able to reason with her but it appears from what you wrote that may not be possible. The next option would be to tell the neighbor what you are going to do if the BS doesn't stop. However don't make a threat unless you are willing to follow through with it. It does sound like you have a challenge ahead of you.

A spell exists for nearly everything but the problem is free will. A spell to keep someone form doing a thing would have to do one of two things. Harm them or force them to do something they would not do normally. I say take legal action and use a luck spell for your chance of a good outcome.

A few months ago I had my car broken into, my oil tank syphoned and a window in my house cracked (attempted break in) all in a week. I purified the entire inside of my home with a sage smudge and then took it outside. As I walked around the perimeter of my yard in the middle of the day, with neighbors watching, it occured to me that the sight of me waving around a giant smoking stick and muttering to myself would probably be enough to make most people think twice about harming me and mine. I also placed hematite over all of the doors and windows in my home. No problems since...

I think that the best would be to speak to the cops, everytime she or her teens physically attack your property until you have enough documentation for a harassment charge. I don't think that doing magick will help because she has her free will.

It might not be a smart idea but I would just offer to take her to AA meetings. Let her know that you know she has a problem and if she gets to the point where she is ready to face it and make a change. I know most people wouldn't accept this invitation, and maybe would react with redoubled attacks on your stuff, but alot of alcoholics need someone to acknowledge their problem before they could acknowledge it themselves.

When the police came to my house over the rock throwing incident they told me that they were well acquainted with this family, and I have seen them at her house several times so I don't know why nothing changes.

When I first moved here 3 years ago she immediatly started coming to my house to tell me about how everyone else's teens were causing trouble in the neighborhood and she would even point out kids that had a "strong resemblance" to her sons and if we witnessed trouble it was more than likely those "other kids". So she literally covers for her kids allowing them to continue their destructive behavior. Unfortunatly, she can't be reasoned with because she's a shouter and she uses profanity quite heavily.

I don't want to harm anyone, of course. I had read about a spell that discourages unsavory coworkers from entering your workspace so I thought maybe there was something like that for discouraging unsavory neighbors.

Maybe the cops have some future plans and are building a case. My mom used to say, "every dog has his day." She gets hers, too. Once she was outside having a screaming argument with her grown son and it was the middle of the night, as usual, well the next day I was off so I went out to rake my yard and all the windows in her car were smashed.

Maybe if I put a big pentagram on my front door they'll ALL leave me alone, huh?

You can cast a spell to protect your space from being violated by others who intend harm or mischief. When we moved into our house we did a simple spell where we walked around our property line and envisioned an invisible barrier encasing our home and yard in a bubble that would keep out anyone or anything who intended harm to us or our property. We have not had any problems on our property, even the big dogs that roam loose in our area stay out of our yard. I would recommend this type of barrier as a starting point.

Wow, that seems so easy. What do you suppose makes it effective? Does it require deep concentration or just visualization?

yes, that works quite well too. Also keeps away the J.W.'s if you don't like answering the door on Saturday mornings :)

That is what I was talking about with the sage. I smudged and used strong visualizations. You can also invoke a deity like Hera to guard home and hearth.

If it can keep the JW's out then it'll keep anyone out! I'll give it a try and see what happens. Thank you all for your input. As I said, I'm not Wiccan and not familiar with magick and spellwork, but I figured any peaceful solution is worth a try.

What properties does sage have that it's so often used to cleanse an area? Is it a plant that you can grow in your yard?

Oh, and as I use this visualization technique should I say anything? And should I do it on a regular basis?

You could write something up to say as you visualize the barrier, but the visualization and the concentrated intent is the most important part of the spell. I just had the song "hit the road jack" pop into my head. It could be sung as you worked the spell and visualized the neighbors being repelled from your property. Reinforcing your barrier every now and then can't hurt.

Thanks. It's certainly worth a try.

Your just jealous because you don't get invited to orgies. By the way if you don't believe any of this (which is fine) why go out of your way to comment on it? I mean no one is forcing you to read these posts. You must want something right? Is it a cookie and a glass of milk? Well little guy it is adult time and you should go to bed.

A women that would attend an orgy just isn't my type really.
yuk.
I only read this because everyone loves an odd circus, and the lulz value of this topic is high.
I really am not here for anything other than to watch adults actually share "spells" for dealing with daily life.
Adults sharing "spells", that sounds weird if you say it out loud.
I do not accept food and drink from strangers, and brother, you are strange.
Bed does sound good right about now though...
Promise me I won't be a toad when I wake up.
