Hi Creator..you bet......but all that aside,

can I just say;

"what a bunch of freakin fruitcakes"

For all those who are interested, my new church "the cult of the grapefruit" is opening up this month in our fine new west Picacho location. We worship mainly Florida grapefruits and give offerings of burnt dryer lint while snorting orange seeds up into our sinuses.

freak out.

Why is it that people cannot accept something different from what their narrow little minds can accept.

Pagan's are no different from you or me, they just believe in different deities and in all honesty, I think that God, Allah, etc. are all one and the same and just want us all to BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER!! What a novel concept ...

People should believe in whatever religion/non-religion they want to -- as long as they do not include those beliefs in government or politics, do no harm, and don't proselytize. The pagans seem to be better at this than the Judeo/Christian/Islamic religions.

If 'Creator of Heaven and Earth' would have bothered to to attend the event, maybe talk to the people there, and participated in the educational opportunities offered, he or she would have realized that ALL religions were honored during this celebration. The sacrifice of those in the American Armed Forces, as well as their families and our veterans were honored for defending our freedom of religion. You might also have noticed that several boxes of food were gathered for needy families because people from all over New Mexico and El Paso belive in giving back to our community. And, again, if you attended the event you might have noticed that the taxpayer-paid-for park was left in better shape after the event than when the event began.

Fear is an unfortunate thing.

Had a great time at the festival... well, except for the holier-than-thou born again Xian alcoholic who felt it necessary to go harass us. Why is it that so many people have power-and-control issues? That they feel they HAVE to go out and make people over into their own image? That's what I love about my pagan friends, nobody feels the need to shove their own belief system down anybody's throat!

how is it "holier than thou" to quote scripture from the Bible? Would you have considered quotations from the Koran as "holier than thou"?

God is NOT Allah... and Allah is NOT God! Do some really deep research and study and then form an opinion. You are doing no one, including yourself, any good by deluding yourselves.

You would do well to realize that just because someone calls themself a Christian, and is not walking the walk... they are just as deluded as you...

You didn't ask me but YES, I would consider quotations from the Koran as "holier than thou." Quotations from anywhere, even your latest fortune cookie, would be holier than thou because, in posting the comments, you are implying it's something that I need to know, have failed to properly consider or otherwise need shoved in my face. I'm all for free and independent thought but draw the line when people try to shove someone else's teachings down my throat because it's their "mission." If someone's teachings, whether they be that of Moses, Christ, Mohammend, Buddha or the Energizer Bunny, have truth in them then I, as an intelligent and free being, should be trusted to either find them myself or to pursue them myself. I don't need my nose shoved in them every chance the followers get. Whenever one uses the word "pagan" nowadays, it's like waving a red matador's cape in front of the bull, and fundies rush over with all the subtlety and tact of a rabid steer. Can't the Sun-News just report on a local festival without people rushing to post Scripture?

Whoooosh. The concept of there being other languages in the world seems to have totally escaped you. Just like dios is god in spanish, allah is god in arabic. The entire world does not speak english, omg who doesn't know this?

FYI Allah does NOT mean God... "Allah" was one of their 360 lunar "gods". According to Muslim tradition, the founder of Islam was Mohammed. He chose "Allah" to be the "god" of his new religion. The appelation has nothing to do with "other languages in the world". Again, do some research, then attempt to form an opinion...

It's funny how some people call a rock a "stone", or a shoe a "sneaker"...maybe we should choose which words we'll use...and belittle, discriminate against, and even kill the others that don't agree... because they're obviously wrong and don't deserve to breathe our righteous air any longer...even though we're describing the same thing...but not...

semantics.... what I am trying to point out is the simple fact that Allah isn't GOD just because Mohammed said so. It is a matter of fact. Read, research, THINK...

It's a direct affront to the spirit and beliefs of the folks in the article. Exactly the same as the guy trying to remove the crosses from our city logo. Believe what you want but don't be so arrogant as to tell others they're wrong.

إل&#16 07; is the word that the Arabic/English translation site I visited gave for "god."

ال&#16 04;ه is the word that it showed for "Allah."

Granted, they are not the same. So, who wants to explain the difference? Well, uh, OK, so "god" is "god" and "Allah" is a particular "god." Great. Anybody want to tell us how to pronounce إل&#16 07;?
