The WT makes great play of how esential it is to keep clear of apostates. By apostates it means those who have rejected WT teachings.

The WT claims that apostates do everything in their power to turn JW's away from their faith. They say even reading stuff on the internet will weaken a JW so that he will forsake his beliefs.

In short, apostates, ex-witnesses, are given an extremely bad press by the WT.

But the WT forgets that they themselves are actually the aggressors. It is the WT that separates family from ex's. It is the WT that implements a shunning policy. It is the WT that makes it impossible for someone to leave quietly. Small wonder that ex's sometimes feel an enormous degree of resentment!

So ultimately the WT have only themselves to blame if if ex's take frequent swipes at the organisation. What did they expect when they decided to treat ex's so harshly?

What did they expect?

The Watchtower Society labels anyone who accepts Christ as their savior as an apostate. Anything that takes glory and power away from the corporation is demonized.

The Watchtower Society religion is based on fear of men, hatred of neighbor, and unbliblical legalism.
