I recently looked at the paper "Jerusalem 607 BCE" written by an anonymous author and available at www.jehovahsjudgment.co.uk . I am not surprised the author hides behind the cloak of anonymity. The paper is more interested in fashion and appearance than in truthful information. The first page alone shows deceit. For example, the diagram gives the appearance that the author knows the "seventy years" ended at October 537 BCE, and that the Bible verses of Ezra 3:1 and 2 Kings 25:26 provide that information. The facts are that the author cannot prove which year the Jews returned, and neither of these verses says this. The "seventy years" are not mentioned anywhere by Ezra, while 2 Kings describes the actions of Gedeliah's murderers going to Egypt. The paragraph at the bottom of page 1 is a gross misrepresentation of the truth. It is put forward without any supporting evidence, because there is none. Page 2 says that Jerusalem would "lie in ruins for seventy years". Jerusalem remained in ruins long after the return of the first Jews, which is the time that the author reckons the 70 years ended. On the same page the author asserts: "537 BCE (the year the Bible says the Jews returned home)". This is another fallacy. The Bible never gives BCE dates, and the author cannot prove that date from any source. Nor can he show any Scripture that explicitly states this moment marked the end of the "70 years". Doug

Every historian disagrees with the Watchtower & it's date on this. Do your own research regarding this instead of having it shoved down your throat by men that deceive.

The year 607 BCE was being punted around in the early 1800s by various people including John Aquila Brown. The person who is the most likely source of Charles Taze Russells use of 607 BCE is an English clergyman E.B.Elliott. His huge work on chronology "Horae Apocalypticae" used the date 606BCE (later 607)and also predicted 1914 as the end time.

The author of that blog sometimes posts here. He is known as thirdwitness. He is the crackiest of all the JW crackpots. The even have the nerve to bring up the 40 year desolation prophecy for Egypt, but then go on to provide zero credible evidence for the desolation of that country.

See what I said, Doug. NR, what evidence do you have that Egypt was desolate for 40 years? Or was this yet another failed prophecy? I am so glad we are here to expose the lies of thirdwitness.

I think it is a perfect example of the mind-twisting, mental disconnect type of gymnastics that a JW goes through to support unsupportable beliefs. Perfect. Keep it up.

Any rational, non-brainwashed individual can see that this is complete horse shit. It is great advertising for apostates. It only gives the warm fuzzy feeling to the already indoctrinated. If it really was well received, then why is there not an open discussion about it on that site? Because the faulty logic and outright lies would be exposed.

You've got to be kidding. Why don't you try some actual critical thinking for a change. This is the skill that is most needed in life and you do not possess it. Answer these questions for me: Is it possible that bible prophecies failed? Why do you give the answer that you do? I am not asking if it is likely. I am not asking if is true. I am just asking if it is possible.
