When someone has a problem with you (or me), remember, it is their problem and not ours. I choose NOT to give up any of my energy to respond to anyone's clear disdain and limitless negativity. We are worth so much more than that.

I can choose to let this define me, confine me, refine me, outshine me....OR I can choose to move on and leave it BEHIND me.

When someone takes the time and effort to deliberately come to this thread with the sole intent of being mean-spirited and negative...and NOT to discuss anything in a rational and sane manner...I am not obligated to take the bait that is being tossed out.

Rich as a sultan,
Poor as a mite,
We're all worth the same
When we turn off the light.

Red, black or orange,
Yellow or white,
We all look the same
When we turn off the light.

So maybe the way,
To make everything right
Is for God to just reach out
And turn off the light!”

I said what i said.
Take it up with Jehovah. Those are his commandments.

==========

If you choose to knowingly reject the truth and all that you were taught from the scripture ragarding images and the like.... Then there is simply NO sacrifice for you left.

You are pretty much the "walking dead" with no hope of a ressurection, unless you change you viewpoint in line with Jehovah's word.

Serious business!

Your choice.

Many young birds in this area are just now learning how to fly. I watch the Red-Tailed Hawks from Cornell Science center here in upstate NY who are taking their first flights.

This poem sums up some fine thoughts: "I was shown a fledgling learning to fly. It's first efforts were very feeble. But as it used its wings more and more, they became stronger until it found the freedom of flight and was able to soar to great heights and fly great distance without any effort. I heard the words that Faith comes with practice. Live by faith until it becomes rocklike unshakable, and find the true freedom of the Spirit."

GRATEFUL
I've got a roof over my head
I've got a warm place to sleep
Some nights I lie awake counting gifts
Instead of counting sheep

I've got a heart that can hold love
I've got a mind that can think
There may be times when I lose the light
And let my spirits sink
But I can't stay depressed
When I remember how I'm blessed

In a city of strangers
I got a family of friends
No matter what rocks and brambles fill the way
I know that they will stay until the end

I feel a hand holding my hand
It's not a hand you can see
But on the road to the promised land
This hand will shepherd me
Through delight and despair
Holding tight and always there

It's not that I don't want a lot
Or hope for more, or dream of more
But giving thanks for what I've got
Makes me happier than keeping score

In a world that can bring pain
I will still take each chance
For I believe that whatever the terrain
Our feet can learn to dance
Whatever stone life may sling
We can moan or we can sing

Grateful, grateful
Truly grateful I am
Grateful, grateful
Truly blessed
And duly grateful.

A Native Elder's thought for the day:

Honor the Creator of all living things

Every element of creation expresses our Creator's personality. Within each person, each animal, every mountain, each grain of sand, and each heart....the Creator designed it. ALL are of the Creator, each particle of the universe is equally deserving of respect and admiration.

When looking upon a sunset, a starry night, the trees and flowers, admiring the birds and animals or even one who you see as your worst enemy, you are looking at something or someone the Creator has made. Know this and give praise and prayer for what HE has made.

We find that handed down from generation to generation were the teachings about a valid and successful way of life; not a "religion" as such.

Our relationship to the Great Creator of the universe, to the earth we live on and our relationships to others on this earth was...and still is...very clear.

The modern world does not relate to spirituality but to materialism. If we do not allow spirituality to guide our lives, we will be lost, unhappy and without direction. We are spiritual beings trying to be human, not human beings trying to be spiritual. It is said, know thyself.

Grand and Great Father, now that I have found You, please continue to lead me to Your truths and Your spirituality.

Yes...and I have seen some warm and appreciative comments on the NA pages concerning this canonization....even from those who do not embrace Catholicism. I have also seen one negative comment from (an admitted) non-Native American that demeaned an American Indian's acceptance into sainthood. It's a fact of life...there are implacable people everywhere.
I hope you are doing well today or maybe better than you were.

I was impressed because Catholics have been intolerant to ethnic diversity in the past. So I am impressed with that alone.

You don't see eye to eye with non-JWs because the WTS teaches you non-tolerance to religious diversity. Even if a religion is wrong in what they teach it is wrong to disrespect it. You will see that someday.

I am glad you are doing good. I had yesterday off and it rained all day and today. Fortunately, I got my yard mowed by 9 in the morning just a few minutes before it started. I am grateful for having a job but I am staying tired because I do a lot of night shift. I haven't worked since 2004 so it is an adjustment. Besides that it is good. It is very humid here because of the rain but one good thing about all this rain is it is good for the tomato plants. Take care.

It was terribly humid here yesterday and in the low 90's....so I didn't get outdoors much until after 7PM and only stayed out about 40 minutes. That humidity is so draining!

Hubby got the back mowed but didn't get to the front :o(

We have not decided whether or not to get tomato plants this year...they have not done well in the last few summers and with all the weeding and maintenance needed...we are thinking that buying a few tomatoes from the produce market up to road as needed, might be the wisest way to go although we DO like the convenience of just stepping out the back door and getting a tomato or two LOL!

I have stuck with only herbs this year...I LOVE the way they smell!

Herbs are great. I have a number of different kinds--mainly to dry for the chinchillas. Several years ago I bought a package of dried herbs marketed for chinchillas, and they loved them. They were really expensive, though, and I figured I could probably grow some myself.

It's worked out well. Most of the herbs live in my greenhouse through the winter, and only the more delicate ones need to be replaced each year. I even harvest the stinging nettle that grows all over the place here. It's very nutrient rich and the chinchillas love it. Just have to be careful to wear gloves when picking it.

I do grow some beans, peas, peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes in the greenhouse, also.

We have often talked about building a greenhouse....something we both really want....but things just didn't materialize :o(

How very nice that you have one!

I planted peas many years ago....right under the kitchen window where I THOUGHT I could keep an eye on them.....and they grew to about 4-6" high....I weeded them one evening.....and the very next morning they were gnawed to the ground. It was rather disheartening, even going to the trouble and the expense of the netting etc....the same with our strawberries....what is left growing is a gift to the critters....they end up with them anyway, LOL!

Well, my husband really didn't have much choice but to build me a greenhouse, since he had the rather nasty habit of mowing my vegetable garden on a regular basis.

No matter how I tried to mark the area, plus showing him where it was, he would invariably overlook the stakes and the string and the warnings and mow everything. That, coupled with the fear that the horses would eat everything made an enclosed area a necessity.

The horses can be very persistent, and in the past they have gotten into the area where I have my bird feeders and have devoured all of the bird seed, and my Peruvian ate my antique rose bushes once. This past winter they were having great fun browsing on Forsythia and Japanese Cherry bushes. Needless to say, I didn't need to prune anything this year. LOL
