My views on religion are very abstract. I'm not so arrogant as to declare or hold that my religious views are "right." However, I have a very optimistic outlook and strong acceptance of the possibility that they are based on various truths in the world, and for that reason they could be real. |

The verse that goes: "Qul man dhalladhiy ya'simukum-min Allahi in araada bikum suu an aw araada bikum rahma. Wa laa yajidoona lahum-min doon Illahi wa liyyana wa la naseer." "Say:'Who is it that can screen you from Allah if it be His wish to give you punishment or to give you Mercy?' Nor will they find for themselves, besides Allah, any protector or helper." The Arabian god Allah was originally a UniPlural / Multi-Une deity (Arabic Allahumma, like Hebrew word for "God" Elohim, dynamically denoting both unity and plurality, not static singularity) who in the Qur'an referred to himself as "We" and "Us," and actually prays to Himself (similar to how the Divine Logos Jesus prays to Himself as God the Father in the New Testament), etc.

Al-Fatihah, known as "The Opening", was revealed to Muhammad as a prayer for Muslims to use in every prayer we make. While most times the Qur'an has the word "Qul", denoting "Say:", Al-Fatihah is unique in that it does not contain the word "Qul" due to its status as a prayer, rather than a solely a chapter in the Qur'an. Whereas other Surahs (chapters) in the Qur'an have prayers within them, Al-Fatihah itself is entirely a prayer. Furthermore, since every aspect of a Muslims life should begin with the saying "In the name of God, the Most Beneficient, the Most Merciful", so to does Al-Fatihah begin. That aside. Can you explain to me, when Jesus, who is God, cries out "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me" in Matthew 27:45-46, is he really just praying to himself? I've read essays on that question, and although they claim he was quoting from Psalms, and attempt to distract the reader from the original question, they never answer why GOD (Jesus Christ as you claim) was praying to Himself! Quoting Psalms doesn't answer anything except that Jesus knew his scripture (and possibly, though its a weak argument), he was fulfilling the prophecy. Despite that "Why did Jesus Christ, who according to Christians is the Son of God and God at the same time, pray to God (himself)?" Why didn't he just say "My Father, my Father, why hast thou forsaken me?" Answer me that, for the question about Al-Fatihah was far too easy a response, being that it is in fact a prayer (to be used by Muslims) given to Muhammad by God in both Mecca and Medinah. |

Wow. "Allahuma" means "Oh God" and is used frequently in supplications. So, I don't know where these sources, which coincidentally are all written by Die-hard Christians with a notable bias, got that from? Furthermore, its interesting that such claims are just being made today, as the internet has grown, allowing people access to a translation of the Qur'an online, with which they can feign knowledge of the arabic language. It's sad. |

Oh by the way, given that the Qur'an came directly from Allah, whoever said that it was meant to be a holy book in which God places himself in every sentence? Being omnipotent, he can still command Gabriel to reveal to Muhammad verses as a prayer to be included in the Qur'an. By the way, because God is all-powerful and not human and thus cannot be confined to the constraints of using the personal pronoun "I" all the time, he is completely capable of stating things from the third-person, as your Bible clearly shows. Also, you should not the plurality of God in the Old Testament. God doesn't say that there are no other Gods, but states that He is "the Lord, your God, worship me before any other god." Why doesn't he say, "I am the Lord, your God, the only God" or something to that effect? |

You're just setting yourself up for confusion. As a Muslim, we ALL believe in Jesus. Thus, from that one verse alone, I will NOT perish but have eternal life. So, not only am I ridiculously comfortable being a Muslim now, my faith just got strengthened past the point of fortitude; though I did not think I could have my faith strengthened any more than it has been. |

No. In fact, due to Arabic grammar rules, when read in Arabic, based on the method of recitation and flow of the Qur'an, one can either read it as "Tawrat" or "Tawrah". I think you'll find the latter a little closer to the word "Torah" which you're familiar with, being that it sounds EXACTLY alike when read in Arabic. Glad to clear that up for you. Quran tells in detail how should one treat slaves, when to release them, what to give them etc., Hadiths are full of instances of how Mohammed acquired, treated and sold slaves, clearly implying that God supported slavery. 18. Concept of allah -God is strange If one has to accept Allah as God, the concept of God itself has to change from a kind God o a criminal and lusty God. 19. Contradiction: Quran tells Allah is merciful and forgiving, but Quran does not forgive or show mercy to non-believers, adultrous women, girls choosing own husbands/mates, people who have insulted Allah or Prophet, and who disobey the rules of Islam. What is mercy and forgiveness if you cannot be forgiving to opponent? 20. Quran bans wine for muslims as it is from Satan. It also forbids sex beyond 4 wives and slave girls(?) for muslims, but promises exactly the same for them in heaven, that too for criminals who kill and get killed. 21. At one place Quran says there is no compulsion in religion, but at various verses orders muslims to kill, burn, torture, destroy non-believers. 22. Allah takes recourse to cursing and spell to influence non-believers. 23. Contradiction 2: Quran says it is easy to understand it, but present day muslims say that it needs to be understood with care, from real teachers who have studied well, earlier translators are suspect, arabic is poetic, classical Arabic is different, meanings are to be taken in correct context, learn Arabic, each Arabic word has several meanings, etc.,. 24. Presently, youtube video clippings made to prophogate Islam are full of lies and distortions about facts, other religious teachings, meanings of arabic words, meanings of scientific words, etc., which shows the makers of those videos and muslims who argue on those lines require to lie to justify Quran as real and from God and Mohammed as prophet. 26. If any person, either during 7th century or now, does all that which Mohammed did , he would have been sentenced to death in any civilised country. and could escape it in Arabia only because he had the army of supporters behind him who shared the loot and women with him. Thus, it was the military power which enabled Mohammed to escape with what all he did. So, without his military Mohammed was not believed by his people, and till date dissent is dealt with cruelly in all Islamic countries. 27. Bible tells story of Adam and Eve which seemed possible to people of 7th century Arabia also because they had no idea of the extent of population of world at that time. What? If I'm understanding your claims correctly, you mean "cult" as in a bad thing. If I'm correct in assuming that, you misused the word "cult". "Cult" as a negative connotation of the word, means "a relatively small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or sinister" (Oxford Dictionary). Islam, having over a billion followers world-wide, cannot be viewed as a "cult" since it isn't "relatively small." Furthermore, from your statements, I can obviously discern that you've never read the Qur'an but have relied on the testimonies of non-Muslims (whether in person, via the internet, or an anti-Islam campaign). No person who argues from a point of ignorance is ever taken seriously. I would strongly recommend you read the Qur'an then base your judgments on it. |
