No one was blamed for failure to follow any part until after it was revealed. Once the restriction was revealed Muhammad took no more wives. Also it seems that some of his marriages were not marriages in the sense of marriage. some if not most were clan formalities and more of a unification of tribes rather than a Husband/wife relationship. The Ahadith only mentions 2 or three of his wives. We do not know the actual number he had, some scholars estimate it may have been 16 or more. I believe the 12 comes from Ishaq's Biography, which was written about 100 years after his death. Ishaq wrote it from handed down oral tradition, his work did not last and what remains is a copy of a copy. but it is still the earliest Biography of Muhammad(PBUH) "Ibn Isḥaq moved to the capital and found patrons in the new regime. He was commissioned by the Abbasid caliph Al-Mansur to write an all-encompassing history book starting from the creation of Adam to the present day, known as "al-Mubtadaʾ wa al-Baʿth wa al-Maghāzī " (lit. "In the Beginning, the mission [of Muhammad], and the expeditions"). It was kept in the court library of Baghdad, although none of his writings are now extant. He died in Baghdad around 761–770 AD." Then you should know Muhammad took no other wife's after the limits were revealed. My post was in reference to why Muhammad had 12 wives. I did not intend it to reflect the revelation came after the ayyat in the post. the intent was he took no wives after it was revealed he could not.

his last wife, Maymuna bint al-Harith As part of the treaty of Hudaybiyah, Muhammad visited Mecca for the lesser pilgrimage. There Maymuna bint al-Harith proposed marriage to him.[76] Muhammad accepted, and thus married Maymuna, the sister-in-law of Abbas, a long time ally of his. By marrying her, Muhammad also established kinship ties with the banu Makhzum, his previous opponents.[77] As the Meccans did not allow him to stay any longer, Muhammad left the city, taking Maymuna with him. Her original name was "Barra" but the Prophet called her "Maymuna", meaning the blessed, as his marriage to her had also marked the first time in seven years when he could enter his hometown Mecca.[76] married in mecca..........

That which the right hand possesses acknowledged it was permissible to marry slaves if they were people of the book. the Qur'an also stated that one should give slaves their freedom. At the time the Qur'an was revealed many owned slaves. It is true about the four wives, the king can have as many as he wants, Shlomo had 1000, but it is said in the Talmud that in the same way that Adam had Eve, this is the correct way, that the man should have only one wife. it is written also that "the man left his parents and went with his wife" (in the Tanakh.). WIFE. as in single. not many wives.

No Muslim has the courage to answer this question on the board I created for it so I will have to spread the question around: "If Allah created pairs of everything, why are Muslim males allowed up to four females?"

jesus is wrote: No Muslim has the courage to answer this question on the board I created for it so I will have to spread the question around: "If Allah created pairs of everything, why are Muslim males allowed up to four females?" It is a welfare type system in which a woman will not be left without a provider. During many times woman have greatly out numbered men. Without this provision some women would never be married. The restriction entailed in having more than one wife includes the ability to provide for each one equally. It can be a burden for a man to have more than one wife. the restriction limit it to only those mature enough and compassionate enough to provide for them. the desired additional wife would be a widow with children. an additional wife is not about fun and games, it is about providing for.

jesus is wrote: <quoted text> So you agree that Allah doesn't create pairs of everything? Yes he created pairs males and females. but the world is subject to physical realities. As such the best we can do as Humans is to approximate to the best of our ability. While all things were created in pairs, an even pairing did not continue. We have natural disasters and man made disasters that often resulted in an imbalance of numbers and very often the number of women has greatly exceeded the number of men. While if things went perfect there would be an even number of men and women resulting in a man for each woman and one woman for each man. However, the world did not remain perfect and the result is if the 1 for 1 rule is kept blindly, the result would be many unmarried women.

Turkish Islamic supremacists bar woman from public bus: "We would sin if you get on this bus, you are causing us to sin" A Turkish woman claimed she was prevented from boarding a public bus by a group of Islamists because her outfit would "cause them to sin," according to a report by daily Evrensel. Yağmur Yılmaz, 21, said she left home on June 3 to go to work, wearing a pair of sweatpants and a T-shirt. Yılmaz said she walked to a stop in Istanbul's Edirnekapı district to get on a bus going to Fatih district, where she worked. A group of around 15 men and women clad in burqas, cloaks and turbans who were on the bus blocked Yılmaz's path, saying she could not get on the vehicle. Yılmaz said she told the group it was everybody's right to board the bus, to which the women from the group replied, "We would sin if you get on this bus, you are causing us to sin." The men in the group also harassed Yılmaz, she claimed, saying: "Look at her. Her head is not covered, shame!" "Nobody in the bus did anything about it, not even the driver," Yılmaz said. "There were other 'uncovered' women waiting at the stop, but they just stood by idly." They probably didn't want to risk getting attacked.
