Islamic scholar opposes ban on female circumcision

Muslim men want their women to stay perpetual virgins and never never enjoy the God given pleasure. It makes the man feel like she is dirty if she has pleasure, so he has to imagine that she would never do such a thing. Their warped training by the filthy Mohammad who did that to them all, because he hated women, passed the same demonic unclean view on to his followers. The men are caught in a catch 22. They want good sex, and it cannot be good without her enjoying it too, then when she does, he hates her for being so dirty, being trained by the false prophet, The men need help mentally. That is why they have to hide even the womans hands and oppress her so they wont be tempted to rape her.. In their warped mind, The sin is in her appearance, not in his lusts and heart. If A man shows in his hand a lot of money, and I grab it and take it, it should be his sin for exposing the money, not mine for taking it. Same principle as rape in their minds.

You're projecting Christian misogyny and views of sex as sin and guilt. There is no sin or guilt in Islam, not about sex or anything else. You are projecting. You accuse others of your own crimes.

Regardless of whether or not fgm has been a custom practiced in Muslim societies, Christian societies, Muslim/Christian societies, etc....

(In fact, Christianity didn't even endorse the much less harmful [though possibly harmful in some respects] practice of male circumcision).

Roger, fgm was practiced in various ways and to various degrees by cultures prior to Islam and contemporaneous with Islam.

The Christian concepts of "sin" and "guilt" does not exist in the Islamic tradition. Don't take my word for it, call up the University of Toronto or McGill U in Montreal (which has an Islamic studies program) and ask any expert there. Roger, if I am not mistaken, the 'f' in 'fgm' means "female" hence "female genital mutilation". Female means girl or woman, not boy or man. So my point was not incorrect.

To be more exact: the New Testament does not recommend nor require female nor male genital mutilation, and in fact it says that to become a Christian one does not need to be circumcised.

Jesus' hyperbolic teaching (that if your eye or hand offends you or causes you to sin, then you should cut it off) was interpreted metaphorically by the vast majority of Christians but taken very literally by a minority of Christians--they were ascetics who castrated themselves to devote themselves to ministry and contemplation without the distraction and time consumption of physical sex, having a wife and children. Jesus' teachings about how some would be eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven (some would not marry), etc., are part of a larger context of how some believers were called to be ascetics and others were not. Anyway, Christendom creating castrati boys based on a hyper-ascetic interpretation of hyperbolic and relatively non-specific passages, is a far cry different from Islam's very influential Reliance of the Traveller saying girls must undergo the procedure of having their clitorises removed.
