1 LOL IF YOU WENT TO MY CHURCH you would see them lifting their hands UP and falling on their knees to God all the time. I even do that here at home so just because muslims have their faces to the ground this verse is NOT about muslims in fact its about Ezra and how they worshipped oh and Christians also do this. Muslims worship allah the pagan god

1 Jews and Christians and I believe the pagans prayed this way to their false idol gods as well. What is your point? |

1 And Moses prayed standing with his arms outstretched. There is no defined way one must pray. It's only delusional Muslims who believe prayer is by prostration. YOU slow! |

1 Yes, i would agree with you on that but what's more striking is the FORMATION of their prayer. 1) They LIFTED their hands. 2) Then they BOWED down. And lastly 3) Worshiped the Lord with their FACES to the GROUND. The Book of Nehemiah is an ANCIENT Hebrew Bible. It would also confirm that the EARLY Jews and Christians were practicing Muslims since they PRAYED exactly like Muslims of today. |

1 Why does everything has to be "competition" with you? Okay, so you LIFT your hands and you KNEEL down but the question is, do you WORSHIP God with your face on the ground? Jesus (peace be upon him) did so. Matthew 26:39 39 "And going a little farther, he fell on his face to the ground and prayed" I'm sure, you'll come out with an excuse as to why, you DON'T do that anymore. By the way, Jesus (peace be upon him) called his God, ALLAH! So stop with the lies if you have any sense of honesty. http://www.youtube.com/watch... |

There is NO where in the Bible where it says I have to kneel to the ground and stick my butt up in the air for God to hear me. I believe God hears me whether I kneel, sit, stand or whatever. God is NOT worried about what position I am in when I am praying. By the way YOU were not there so you do NOT know how Jesus prayed and Jesus did not pray to your PAGAN allah moon god. Actually your a liar he did NOT call God allah because allah is ARABIC and Jesus spoke HEBREW and the DEAD SEA SCROLLS prove most people back in Jesus time spoke an old dialect of Hebrew NOT aramiac as some were told. So do yourself a favor STUDY PRE ISLAM before muhammed took over and look how the pagan arabs worshipped THE SAME WAY YOU MUSLIMS WORSHIP TODAY your nothing but pagans and you want Jesus to be a pagan and he is NOT a pagan HE WORSHIPPED YAHWEH THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC, and Jacob Notice I did NOT say ISHMAEL who came from Hagar. Go and learn and stop believeing everything your told because ISLAM HAS LIED TO YOU.

I am NOT in competition on anything with you I AM ONE that likes to study religions. I have studied Islam and Christianity way over 35 yrs now and I love to read By the way you may want to pick up the book Jesus spoke HEBREW busting the aramiac "myth" by Brent Minge. You people got that myth from the movie Passion were mel gibson used aramiac as the language in the movie but mel gibson was wrong Jesus never spoke aramiac he spoke HEBREW he was a rabbi during his time and he spoke the language that was spoken during that time. Inserts from the Book DEAD SEA SCROLLS The Dead Sea Scrolls, known to date from the same general period, reveal an overwhelming preponderance of Hebrew texts. The figure is generally accepted as around 80%, with Aramaic and Greek taking up most of the balance. In their comprehensive translation of the Qumran literature, Michael Wise and others observe that: “Prior to the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the dominant view of the Semitic languages of Palestine in this period was essentially as follows: Hebrew had died; it was no longer learned at mother’s knee. It was known only by the educated classes through study, just as educated medieval Europeans knew Latin. Rabbinic Hebrew … was considered a sort of scholarly invention – artificial, not the language of life put to the page. The spoken language of the Jews had in fact become Aramaic … The discovery of the scrolls swept these linguistic notions into the trash bin … the vast majority of the scrolls were Hebrew texts. Hebrew was manifestly the principal literary language for the Jews of this period. The new discoveries underlined the still living , breathing, even supple character of that language … prov[ing] that late Second-Temple Jews used various dialects of Hebrew…”[1]. http://www.sharesong.org/JESUSSPOKEHEBREW.htm |

The Bible describes many postures for praying, for example: Standing: 1 Kings 8:22; Mark 11:25 Bowing down: Ps 95:6 Kneeling: 2 Chr 6:13; Ps 95:6; Luke 22:41; Acts 20:36 Falling on the face: Num 16:22; Josh 5:14; 1 Chr 21:16; Matt 26:39 Spreading forth the hands: Is 1:15 Lifting up the hands: Ps 28:2; Lam 2:19; 1 Tim 2:8 Prayer while standing was is the traditional Jewish prayer posture (1 Sam 1:26; 1 Kings 8:14, 22; Neh 9:4; Matt 6:5; Luke 18:11, 13). Kneeling or lying with one's face on the ground was used during extraordinary circumstances or for extremely urgent requests (1 Kings 8:54; Ezra 9:5; Dan 6:10; Matt 26:39; Acts 7:60) How did Jesus pray? On his knees: "He (Jesus) withdrew about a stone's throw from them, knelt down and prayed." (Luke 22:41) ... while sitting with children: "Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them." (Matthew 19:13) ...while standing, and looking up: "So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said,'Father, I thank you that you have heard me...'" (John 11:41) ...and looking up while at a meal (presumably sitting or reclining): "After Jesus said this, he looked towards heaven and prayed:" (John 17:1) So how did Jesus pray? The answer, of course, is that he prayed in many ways. The physical posture is not important. Even the Pagans prayed with their foreheads to the ground. What is important is having the right attitude towards God. Which, of course, is what the Christian church teaches. Jesus did not call God, "Allah." |

Ummm ... well let me think ... when I have attended church services (when i did belong to a religion)... I remember that we have kneeling parts in front of the pews.... So when certain prays were said ... people kneeled on them ... and bowed their heads down ...(catholic and united churches).
Depending on what church you belong to ... some do lift their hands in praise to god .. look to the heavens to say thanks .... and then say AMEN. Others will place their hands together to pray ... some bow their heads, some dont ... some close their eyes... some dont..... its a personal choice on how one does it...... Bowing the head to the ground.... yes it happens in christian churchs... but it does not say that the heads touched the ground .. but their faces bent to the ground ... BIG BIG DIFFERENCE..... So for the person that started this topic .. i suggest you go to a Church ... and see what occurs.... nothing will strike you down for doing so .... |

Muslims are not part of Judeochristian religion-even though they clain it and insist their allah is our Jehowa. we Jews and Christians consider it as a Blaspehmey. More over, a Muslim never lifts his hands up above his head like the Jews or Christians while praying. They just touch their ears, bend their bodies, and so all the circus. Christians are supposed to bend and touch their grouns ,as they are still doing in Eastern and Middle Eastern countres, but here in western world, since they have the benches in the churches, they symbolically bend thier knees during prayer. Allah of Muslims is not God of Jews and Christians. Our God is Jewhowa-the god above very gods. The ONLY true God.

That is very thoughtful of that 'Atheist'. They too are human and have a kind heart. Compared to Islamists, all others are humane and care for others.I too wish your husband God's Blessings, good health and speedy recovery sister. |

Let's face it, you're in DENIAL. You claim to be a follower of Jesus (peace be upon him) yet you DON'T pray like he did which was.... Matthew 26:39 39 "And going a little farther, he fell on his face to the ground and prayed" Those factual statements comes from your OWN Bible, yet you turn BLIND eye towards it. Whether you like it or NOT, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Arabic are all part of the SEMITIC language and that ALLAH, ELOAH, and ELAH all mean the SAME thing! When Jesus described his CREATOR, he used ALLAH the Semitic word but he NEVER used the Latin word "God". The word "God" was used by PAGANS (God, Gods, Goddess, Goddesses, ect). The bottom line is... 1) Do you pray with your FACE to the GROUND like Jesus (pbuh) did? And 2) Do you refer to your Creator as Allah like Jesus (peace be upon him) had also done? |

2 We're not discussing separate occasions where some churches prays with their "knees" or others with their "hands" or bowing. What we're discussing, is this exact FORMATION... Nehemiah 8:6 6 "Then Ezra praised the Lord, the great God, and all the people chanted,“Amen! Amen!” as they lifted their hands. Then they bowed down and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground." That is an exact replica of how Muslims PRAY. http://www.youtube.com/watch... http://www.youtube.com/watch... http://www.youtube.com/watch... |
