Fire destroys 21 homes; 500 evacuated

There is a large 8+ acre parcel on Railroad right across the street from Selzer Wood Plant just south of Kusel Road. It is full of high dry weeds and wood debris that is a definite fire hazard. I have filed numerous complaints with Butte Fire and they refuse to have the property owner abate the hazard. I have called the Fire Marshall but he will not return calls and is never available for calls. With administration like this is little wonder why we have fires like this. I have nothing but the highest regard for the firefighters on the line risking life and limb to protect us. Thank you. Now if we can get administrators to do their job as well perhaps we can reduce some of the risk.

I was married at the Magnolia Manor in Palermo in 2006. Was it affected by the fire? Thank You.

Amy, Magnolia Manor survived. Most of the destroyed structures were a couple of blocks south and west of there.
