Christ arose on the first day of the week, setting the custom. But, since Christ has become our Sabbath, or rest, it really doesn't matter what day of the week we go.

Well,“Are you suppose to follow customs or God’s commandments,” if I may very respectfully ask? And if you say, the latter,“Then why do you not go to church on the seventh day, which is day that God Himself sanctified, as well as specifically “commanded” you to remember and keep holy?”

Wow!“Would you be so kind to cite the biblical text that not only states that Christ became our Sabbath (seventh day) but also changed it to the first day of the week?”

You see, I am very surprised that you allege that “it really doesn’t matter what day of the week” that you go to church, especially since I would suppose that true Christians who love the Word of God would actually observe His commandments without editorializing them, with all due respect (smile).

Please tell us you don't take beer money from the offering plate as it passes by you?

If Jesus resurrection changed God's Sabbath Day commandment, then why do you suppose that nowhere in the Holy Bible is there no mention of this.

You see, what if you were stopped for traveling 55 mph in a 45 mph speed zone, and you told the police officer that the speed limit had been changed to 55 mph. Well, "Do you think that since it was customary to drive 55 mph in this particular location, the police officer could not give you a ticket? Or wouldn't you at least have to show evidence that the speed limit had been changed by the Government, rather than man, to the judge," if you do not mind my asking (smile)?

Wow! I am very suprised that in 17 votes casted thus far, no one goes to church on Sunday because of God's commandment. My Christian friends, "Does this mean that one of God's commandment has become obsolete," if you do not mind my asking (smile)?

Frankly, churches are mentioned several times in the New Testament. Even the Psalms make mention of praising God in the congregation. We are to not forget to assemble ourselves together in Heavenly places. Also, where 2 or more are gathered, the Lord will be there in the midst of them. Christians draw strength from the Church. They are blessed in the Church. Sabbath or not, when one is able to go, it's a great idea to go. There's strength and blessing within waiting to get within our souls. We can also be a blessing to others. That's the way that works. If one is unable to go, then some should take the services to that one undble to go whenever needed.

If exposing unscriptural traditions is called being a troll, then I most graciously accept this label, with all due respect (smile).

Yes, the word “church” is mentioned 80 times in the NT. However, not once does it command anyone to attend church on Sunday, i.e.,“the first day of the week,” right (smile).

Well, Jesus attended the synagogue on the Sabbath (seventh day), rather than on Sunday (first day), right? Thus,“Wouldn’t it be wise to follow what Jesus did, rather than the traditions of man,” if you do not mind my asking (smile)?

In my humble opinion, you make an excellent point here. On the other hand, there is absolutely no scriptural support for attending church on the first day of the week because it is the Sabbath Day, right (smile).

First Christ said man was not made for the sabbath the sabbath was made for man, second Jesus chose to break the sabbath by doing anything he wanted on that day, and third he said where two or three are gathered in my name their I will be, Jesus wanted man to cultivate the sabbath mind, not the sabbath day, because Jesus afterall anti-tradition, he even taught against the use of titles..The sabbath for Jesus, was to live every moment of ones life in a state of spirit and truth, because to worship in the tradition places, JERUSALEM WAS DEAD TRADITION, VOID OF SPIRIT OR TRUTH, this is why, Jesus hunted by the jewish religious authorities, they wanted to kill him, because he was putting them out of buisness..Well as we know, they conspired with the Romans and had Jesus nail to a cross, because he was a real threat to the traditionalist..PEACE BRO..

Yes, Jesus did say this. But “Doesn’t this simply mean that the Sabbath was a “day of rest” that was made for man,” if you do not mind my asking (smile)?
littletree wrote:

If you would be so kind, please list anything that Jesus did on the Sabbath day that actually was sinful, rather than simply contrary to the customs and traditions of the Jews (smile).
littletree wrote:

Well,“What if this simply mean that the church is not the only place where people can gather in the name of Jesus,” if you do not mind my asking (smile)?
littletree wrote:

Yes, I agree that Jesus did not want people to allow the Sabbath Day to become a burden on them. In other words, He wanted them to exercise good judgment, which meant that they could cultivate the Sabbath by help others on this day, in my humble opinion (smile).
littletree wrote:

Yes, I totally agree with you on this point (smile).

Again, I totally agree (smile).

No, not even close. But at least these is an improvement over your "Was Moses Gay" thread. Still a troll though.

I apologise I was not accurate and made a false statement. The thread title was about "Moses" and in your first posts you argued Moses was gay.
