The mainstream had it so wrong about the Messiah, they didn't even recognize Him when he arrived. I don't think the second coming will be all that different- in fact Revelation tells us it will be much like that.

And that's the problem with myths. The gullible people who believe them see things that aren't there. For ever since this silly Rapture thing got started, people have been predicting when it was going to happen. A search of the Internet for "false rapture predictions" brought up 13,600 hits. And I'm sure these delusional people making these predictions were convinced they "saw" it coming on the dates they predicted.
