I agree that Mary was probably around twelve to fourteen years old. This was the normal age for girls to be married. But men normally would marry around 18 to early twenties.

The Bible does not give their ages. So it is impossible to know for sure how old they were.

I would like to add that according to the Bible, Jesus had brothers and sisters. It is very rare that a man of ninety could father any children at all. Abraham was the only example of a man of that age ever fathering a child, and that was a miracle.

That is what I believe.

Jesus didn't have a brothers or sisters.
To understand this point you should know that the Syriac language dsoens't contain a huge number of words, for this reason everyone from your family is called a brother or sister...

Please thibk about the definition of cousin in english and tell me exactly from wich side is related, father or mother or aunty or uncle..

Thank you

He didn't? Well, that's very strange. The Bible says he did, and multiple times!

I wonder why someone would be particularly interested in arguing this point. Does it really matter? Does your salvation hinge on it? If it does, there's a problem. Salvation is founded on one thing and that is the shed blood of Christ, not on who His mother was.

While we're on the subject, Mary's first name is not "Virgin". She is Mary, a special woman chosen for a special task, who needed salvation just as badly as the rest of us. Making more of her than that is akin to idolatry.

Jesus did, brothers and sisters, sisters werent named directly. Here are a few verses: Matthew 12:46-While He was still speaking to the crowds, behold, His mother and brothers were standing outside, seeking to speak to Him.Luke 8:19-And His mother and brothers came to Him, and they were unable to get to Him because of the crowd.
His sisters:Matthew 13:56-And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this man get all these things?" there is many more at http://www.gotquestions.org/Jesus-siblings.ht...

I agree with your comment here, yet I wonder if you are Mormon. Are you?

I was just joking. It is too bad that submitter has been ousted, but talking to him was like teaching rocket science in Chinese to a fourth grader from Arkansas.

Your simplistic understanding of whether or not Jesus had brothers is detrimental to constructive debate. Languages change just as sad has a completely different meaning now than it did a couple a hundred years ago, brothers and brethren did not just refer to full brothers in the language that the bible was written in. I ask you this question without tradition and context how do we know what should be in the bible in the first place.

Well if "brother" doesn't really mean "brother" then I have no clue how you read things. If brother really weren't brother, all the versions of the bible would have translated that word "brother" as something else, but ever since Tyndale, Douay-Rheims, and King James, they all have the word "brother". James is referred to as the brother of Jesus.

The bible is only a couple of hundred years old you say?

I guess you're not as great a bible scholar as you'd like everyone to believe.

Oh I agree words and its meaning do change. Just as the word SIN, which once meant "to miss the mark" has a totally different meaning now.
