My brother is out of the hospital and doing well.Bummer is they were not able to fix the aneurysm in his brain. We knew this could happen but was the least evasive means of a fix. This surgery was done by means of the femoral artery in his thigh up through his heart to his brain. You see by brother also has a AVM http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arteriovenous_ma... that has to great of blood flow to let the treatment of hair-sized platinum coils, which look much like a Slinky toy, into the aneurysm to block the blood flow work the coils kept getting washed out. My mother, brothers long time girl friend and I had a good cry before going to see him in ICU two at a time was all we were aloud and we were not aloud to tell him till the next morning.Did not want to raise his blood pressure besides the doctor did not think he would remember anyway. I hated that part but I did it for my brother. We all were able to be with my brother the next morning to support him as the doctor broke the news. My brother and I wanted me to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and to keep them coming. The next step is open brain surgery to clamp off the aneurysm.Looks like my family will be doing this again early next year.

Hey Jammer, I think you know well to put a "DITTO" on par five's good thoughts, from me and all us demons at CC Atanta!! Frankly, I feel it's great news that your brother (first name?) survived a very sensitive brain surgery and is recovering well!! Hopefully, his next AT BAT will be a great HOME-RUN for you all!!

Jammercolo wrote: At least my brother still has options. We will beat this together. I'm a new blood here, Jammer, but reading some of your past comments makes me feel some akin to you. I well know how such close to home hits can hurt, especially being your brother. You'd probly trade places with him in a heartbeat, and I'd bet on that. You are his anchor thru this and it sounds like he depends upon you! Just take care that you stay strong, and healthy thru this ordeal! You say it all when you say, "We will beat this together." Prayerful Regards, StaccatS

Thanks everyone ALL your comments add to my strength that I pass alone to my brother Fred. yes I do believe I would take his brain AVM malformation and make it mine if I could. What big brother would not? I've always been stronger and healthier then him my odds would be better. Side note to my Topix friends.1 in 50 of us have a brain aneurysm we don't know we have.If you get an unnormal bad headache especially behind an eye,Neck pain, nausea and vomiting, sensitivity to light fainting or loss of consciousness or seizures go to a hospital.25,000 Americans have a brain aneurysm. If they ruptured every year 40% will die 20% will have a very reduced quality of life. Take care, I will be flying home to Colorado tomorrow.

It seems to me that issues dealing with the the brain are harder to come to grips with than probably any other ailment one could face.
