Yet I have learned so much from many posters who are agnostic or atheist!
I do share many of your views; you believe in equality and protecting freedoms; so do I.

Age is relative so whether nettie is old or not depends on who you're asking.
To a poster who is in their 50s or less then she would be considered old but to a person who is the same age as her or older she would not be considered old. An 80 or 90 year old would think of her as a mere youngster.

AS for the things nettie says, I don't agree with a huge amount of her views but that doesn't mean I shouldn't try to get along with her. I know the things we don't agree on so I mostly try to avoid those subjects.

What I do respect in nettie is her devotion to her elderly mother. I work with old folk who have been abandoned by their families and see the hurt and loneliness there so anyone who sticks by their parents no matter what is to be applauded IMO.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Feeling that way myself now, at 36, I can only imagine what I'm going to say "I wish I knew then" about when I am your age. Life is so cool.

Hi Nettie, you are only as old as you allow yourself to feel, and with your fighting spirit, that makes you a youngster! There are guys at my golf club who are in their eighties, and they play a full round of golf everyday of the week. Some of them have even addressed me as son, and I am just short of my mid sixties. I hope that I am still around to hit that little white ball in my eighties. You are right when you said that for all your years, there is always something new that you can discover or learn. Your health is important too, no matter what age you are. No health, no wealth, was something my mother used to say. And remember Nettie, when those fundie bigots(we all know who they are) try their bully boy tactics against you, that plenty of sane rational people are rooting for you! Take care.
