While you are prying for me, can you take notes of whether or not your pries are working???
I thought once or twice I heard Allah trying his best to get through, but I couldn't be sure.
And it's your money. If you want to blow it in the collection plate, it will make you and your preacher happy.
I would prefer to blow my money on something more certain like winning a huge windfall on a lottery ticket.

Well I have to pry my wallet open first.

No danger of any mixup of prayers to a god.
They all are only useful for encouraging one who prays to act, making the prayer come to fruition.
In general--praying is like using a rocking chair--
you are doing smething --
but getting nowhere !!
Well I believe it's possible that thoughts are plugged-in to energy, and that the energy runs through all forms of life ... so in that way I entertain the idea that the thoughts are getting somewhere ... but I no longer believe that there are any gods anywhere listening to, or answering, or not answering prayers.

Somewhere along the LINE before I totally quit believing in a god I had already quit praying. I figured that if the god knew all, then the god already knew by my thoughts what I wanted to happen in my life, and if the god didn't do anything to change my situation, then there was no use in asking, as the god already knew what was "best" for the situation.

And another reason I quit praying was because I figured if the god knew what what "best" for every body, then I had no right to intervene in god's plan FOR every body.

Added to that I learned when I was very young that the old preaching of "ask and it shall be given" was total malarkey. I watched too many people begging for help from a god without success. Just as did the animals in the forest ... they still had to suffer, and not just a wee bit, but a whole lot.

If there is a god, which I don't believe ... the god is more cunning and cruel than any human ever born. So it would be unlikely for the god to send messages to earth via the air-waves commanding how humans should have mercy on each other, when the god doesn't even know the meaning of the word "mercy."

One imaginary god is just as valuable as any other imaginary god.
Each one only has its existence only in peoples minds.
Some people imaging no gods and others imagine many gods, others imagine one god.
The number of gods one has in one's head is all a matter of personal choice .
Well stated.

Humans map out their realities by what pleases the desires.
Then many of them want others to comply to their own images of how to believe, how to live a "moral" life so that the favorites can make it up the ladder to the grandiose heights of glory. And they kill to make sure their imaginary maps are followed to a T.

Religion might be full of thrills for believers, but it has been, and it is, the cause of absolute horror on planet earth.

Good for those at Google.

Naturally the church has always been the last to welcome those who have been persecuted because of church teachings.

Yet they are changing with the times, as has always occurred throughout history ... which should make it very plain to the "faithful" that a god never had anything to do with setting up any rules on conduct in the first place.

He has the whole Universe to look after.

Then I suggest you stop "praying" because your personalized god might not want to bother with such trivial "de-tales."

You're correct. Without sinners, the flames of hell could not exist. And considering that most people in the world are not Christians, that is a whole lot of fuel to keep the fires burning.

Yes dear. Everyone knows the RCC just loves women. They just don't trust them to make the "right" choice when it comes to birth control or abortion that they would deny ALL women (even the non-catholic) access through legislation because apparently they don't think women will make the "right choice". They also love children. Love them so much they allowed pedophile priests to sexually abuse them for decades worldwide moving the predators around from parish to parish to prey on even more children and then as damage control blamed a group of people who DIDN'T move the pedophile priests around. Never occured to you that you may be the one asleep did it?

Are you certain that your god has eyes?

Does your god have a mouth?

Do you believe that your god is male?

Does he therefore have a set of testicles?

Also a penis?

An anus?

Are they each functional?

Since he supposedly made man in his image, all of his organs must be functional.

Strange that he used the same model for reptiles, fish, birds, higher animals and humans.

The human body is not a marvel of engineering by any standard.

It has a heart subject to malfunctioning, knees that need replacing, prone to attacks from environmental pollution and a head that is perched upon a thin, easily broken of strained, neck.

A windpipe that doubles as the intake route for food and sexual organs that double as organs for waste elimination are what one would expect to see from a system of evolutionary adaptations.,

Human anatomy is not the kind of a job one would expect from an all knowing being.

Don't you know that god is spirit?

How else could the holy ones be spirited away?

Are you sure that "god" wasn't ordering you in what to write???

After all, the popes and Luther ordered the torture and killing of other humans and they seemed to be certain that when they gave the orders, that "god" was doing the steering.

As you claim to be a devout follower of "god," I would be interested to know if those words came funneling through you from him.

You seem to be certain that he is your "keeper," and keepers usually keep under complete control what they believe belongs to them, so it's possible that you and your words are all in the control of "god." If that is the case, "he" commands you what to say, and as do all other "theologians," you just spread the "good news."

:)
