I don't have a problem with religion in general, it's the hypocritical people. They talk the talk, but can't walk the walk. I have too many examples that would take up to much of everyones time.

Captain_Morgan02 wrote: <quoted text>Not sure I understand your question. Please elaborate. It's plagiarized, the bible, certainly led by the story of Jesus, which is a remake, without even changing many of the names, of the story of Horus, in the Egyptian book of the dead, from a thousand years before the Christians Jesus was supposedly born. It's not just kind of the same idea, it's the same story. From before his birth to a virgin mother Meri/Mary, to his crucifixion and resurrection. They plagiarized from books and stories all over the world, from the egyptian book of the dead as well as Tao scriptures, middle eastern myths etc etc etc etc etc... Of course, the religious leaders will come up with a thousand reasons that it's just that everyone, except them misinterprets these texts, because they try to make them fit the bible. Except that many of the people interpreting the texts have never had anything to do with a Christian bible. Believe what you want, it is every Americans right to do so, but stop tryin to convince the atheists they are wrong, they have more proof that organized religion has made crap up on a whim for thousands of years, and all we have is a book that we can say we know is true, because it's "divinely inspired". Faith is faith, by definition we can't prove it or it becomes a fact, not a faith. I stopped worrying about proving anything to anybody and just choose to believe!

How I detest the blame the internet game.... The internet is a mirror that reflects the world around us, if people have a problem with the internet then it's the world they need to work on changing. And as far as these 4 idiots of the apocalypse, face facts religion will never die, it's to greatly ingrained in human culture.

Atheists while increasing in raw numbers are declining as a percentage of total population. Then that results in 0-0-0-0, which will still =0! Everyone will get eliminated no matter what their "beliefs" are. Still MADness all around.

Go read another book on how we crawled from the sea and decided to stand up and start breathing air and just agree to disagree. You don't have to be rude about it. Hey, no one is stopping you from reading your book about how an invisible man somehow "POOFED everything into existance" like he had some kind of magic wand. No need to get your tighty whities in a bunch.

Since relighion is "greatly ingrained in human culture" religion will die along with us humans when we finally make ourselves extinct from fighting over "which religion is right". No humans = no beliefs, no religion - simple as that.

If anything where to take out humanity it's more likely going to be governments seeking lands and resources, that is if we don't burn out the Earth from pollution and over population. Religion is far from the thing that will end the world. Short sided ignorance such as yours however might.

The internet isn't hurting religion, its followers are.
Religious leaders and followers have pushed their faiths into the limelight, whereby exposing them to ridicule, examination and misunderstanding.
Nothing caused this more than radical Muslim terrorists who believed in murdering for their faith and drove Islam onto the world stage of negativity forever. Until 9/11, Islam was a distant, mysterious religion few Americans even thought about.
Then came mega-religion. There have always been a few send-me-money-and-I'll-guarant ee-you-a-spot-in-heaven evangelists around. And there have always been fools dumb enough to oblige. Today, however, mega churches abound and make millions for their "spiritual" leaders. Their flocks seem to see no problem with this garrish rock-festival image to religion or the lavish lifestyle provided to the ministers by parishoners. Question is....WWJD?
Lastly, churches became obnoxiously involved in politics; and the two make horrible, if not dangerous, bedfellows. When religion becomes part of the politicial oneupmanship of candidates, it sucks the life from away from both the religion AND the campaign. Put them together and the become like rotting meat...stinking and impossible to swallow.
Religion at one time used to be a private matter. People worshipped and then went about their lives. They didn't bear their religion like a neon sign, pushing it and shoving it on the world and demanding that others pay attention.... or else. Religion has its place and its purpose, but these days I liken it to Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton. Pretty, rich, but not a lot going on of any real value.

Could that be why there is so much debate about the religious beliefs and affiliations of our founding fathers? It was not a topic they often discussed or spoke about in public, other than to say It had no place in their governmental decisions. It was a private affair, between themselves, their families and their gods, or lack thereof.

The bible says man is fallible. Even people who follow the Christian faith. Most Christians truly attempt to follow the word of God daily but that doesn't mean they won't and don't make mistakes. I'm not saying that there aren't some out there who are posers but most aren't.
