The congregation of 250 families and 1,000 people would like to ho ld its main worship service Friday on the first day of Ramadan. The congregation now waits for the Rutherford County Codes Department to complete inspections before issuing a certificate of occupancy at the new mosque.

Attorney Luke Goodrich with the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, which represented the mosque in the suit, called the ruling a victory for people of all faiths.

But opponents objected to what they called a lack of notice about Wednesday's court actions.

Attorney Joe Brandon, who is representing a group of Rutherford County residents opposed to mosque construction but not involved in Wednesday's suit, said he's not surprised that the U.S. attorney got involved.

"You don't throw a lawsuit like this together overnight," he said. "So, clearly, it's something they've been planning for some time."

Brandon said Rutherford County residents were "circumvented."

Sudan, Philippines, Nigeria, Somalia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kosovo....Wherever there are muslims in any number, they are waging war on innocent people. You want to count up crimes in the last century? Christians are at at the heart of most EVERY crime you fear and experience in the US. What about Congo, So. Africa, uh, the Holocaust? Bosnia? Hutsis/Tutsis? Do you know what happened with the Hutsi's/Tutsis? The Christians were so ugly to each other that people started converting to Islam. Most of the issues you brought up are political more than religious and you know it. They aren't inspired by religion but by tribalism, culture and territorial concerns. And the trouble in those countries is caused by a small portion, not everyone. Just like for years people wouldn't visit N. Ireland-it was dangerous.NOt because every Catholic was criminal, but because some, a relative few, were causing problems for all. Churches are everywhere in this Muslim country. They are located on prime lands and city centers. Many have been built when Christian British and other Christian forces colonized this Muslim land for hundreds of years (1511 to 1957). Same things happened elsewhere in many parts of the world.

Muslims have only stayed a few years in USA and never colonized or occupied the country in the manner Christians have done on ours. And I do not intend to colonize USA in future either.

All I should say that if Christian Europeans have stayed in our Muslim country for 450 years, we Muslims should rightfully be able to make presence in USA for many hundred years to come without much complaints.

And should we overcome the Christians in terms of population and influence, say in 200 years from now, it would still be fair and even.

A normal behavior in a community is the average of sum of behavior of all people in the community.
