One of the problems with Govt is they try to protect everyone from themselves. It's extremely unfortunate, but it was an accident (at this point)... They mention helmets, but one of those wouldn't have made a difference here... |

1 I think it's more to do with it being an olympic press bus. The usual bad driving conditions in London have been made worse by the introduction of 'olympic only' lanes, the closure of some safe cycling routes (which is rather ironic given our suceess in the cycling events) and the general reduction in road space for other vehicles. There is a safe cycle route (closed during the olympics) around the olympic park which the poor cyclist could have used if it was open. The same is true over here to some extent. I suppose it all depends where you live. |
