El Paso police are looking for two men who attacked a family on their way to a quinceañera.
The crime is the focus of this week's Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week.
The attack took place around 7 p.m. March 31 at the Diamond Shamrock store at 3898 Doniphan.
Police said the family had stopped for gas when a family member went inside the store. He soon ran out of the store yelling as he was chased by a man with a knife. As boy got into the car and the father tried to drive away, the suspect tried slashing the tires of the vehicle and stabbed the vehicle's hood. At the same time, another suspect punched the passenger door.
The family was able to get away safely.
Police detectives later learned that one of the suspects had been
looking at a woman in the vehicle, which angered the boy. During a confrontation, the suspect took out a knife and chased the boy out of the store.
The suspect with the knife is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build, shaved head, white T-shirt, brown shorts and tattoos covering both arms.

5 killed in Mexico City shootout

MEXICO CITY—Authorities in Mexico's capital say that a shootout in a poor district has left five young people dead and two wounded.
Mexico City's Attorney General's office says in a statement that the fatalities were two women, ages 14 and 20, and three men with ages ranging from 19 to 22.

The statement said the shootout took place Saturday morning in the working-class district of Iztapalapa. Two injured people are in serious condition.
