I don't think those of means disdain military service to any degree. I also do not think that those of lesser means advocate military service as a patriotic duty. The reality is that for those of lesser means miliary careers offer opportunities for those who forwhatever reasons are less likely to pursue 4 year colleges. Add to that group those who cannot afford a four year degree, but are assisted financially by participation in programs like ROTC. If those of lesser economic means had the same avenues as those with more, they too would be less apt to volunteer for military duty. Which, as Roman history teaches us, was never to involve anything other than perpetual, continual wars. These American imperialists include top members of the Bush administration, starting with Dick Cheney himself.
So, unless you believe that our nation SHOULD be engaged in aggressive wars of conquest and occupation, again I ask you to reconsider. no, i'm not into the idea of battle for the hell of it my post says the exact opposite. and don't tell me what you think i'm doing wrong and what i should do, you don't know me... HOOAH!
